In 2011, Barron led all sophomore punters in the nation with a 47.69 average.

In 2012, Barron led all punters in the nation - regardless of class - with a 50.18 average. (Included 17 punts downed inside the 20.)

Two things that may have teams concerned:

1. Size. Seems small for a punter.
2. Altitude. 6800 feet inflates those numbers.

I suspect teams will want to see him kick in person or have him hit the major kicking camps before offering.

Lol on #1. Agree with #2.

I couldn't care less about his size. A punter punts the ball. We don't need him to provide depth on the OL.

Duff mentioned Falcon sitting at 6800, which still puts an asterisk on these numbers, regardless Justin has averaged 53.5 in a sample size of 4 punts (thanks for the offense Kalen) this year. In the thrashing of George Washington he didn't have to punt at all. So punting at elevation plus stellar team offense equals Justin's got some extra work to stand out for coaches. Plays LB and on the wrestling team too so he'd have some good skills to cover those punts of his too.

Probably a long shot with getting Diego this summer but I'd love seeing all-Colorado kicking units in the future and for guys like Barron or Ryan Charles to have the opportunity at CU any way the school can get them here.

I hope we offer him at PWO with the chance to earn a scholarship as a RS Soph and up.
