What does Dre's departure do for our short-term recruiting?

Does it change priorities and does it open a new slot?

Beyond the transfer market, probably nothing. There's another scholarship open if the staff wanted to sign someone, but it doesn't sound like they've been recruiting any HS players.

This article from Kensler in the DP gives some clue as to what Boyle is thinking on this topic:

Boyle said he is not sure whether Colorado will use the scholarship made available with Roberson's departure on a player this spring (which Boyle had said most likely would be a transfer from a four-year college if one was worthy) or bank it for the 2013-14 recruiting cycle that focuses on current high school juniors."We're always on the lookout," Boyle said.

2013-14 would mean a current high school senior.

I don't think we should rule out that possibility. There are some good ones still out there, especially after some recent de-commits.

I think they mean 2013-2014 recruiting cycle, as opposed to season. But that could be interesting if Boyle added another HS senior to this class. Boyle does not seem the type to go after someone just to fill a spot though. If it's not right he'll bank it.
