Would Sefo/Norgard have had more offers?

I guess I don't see the issue. It doesn't take away that he has one official offer I realize that. Is it guaranteed he got more BCS offers? Not at all but I do see there as being a strong possibility that he would have had he committed late. My biggest issue is that buffaholic didn't have the whole story.

I had the whole story. The rest of it is irrelevant as discussed.

Yes I fully realize that you can still be recruited even if you commit and commitments have no bearing on future offers, but that's not what I was saying. I'm speaking in terms of Norgard and Sefo, who said they got other offers but never reported them out of respect for the staff and school. Do you not think that it's likely that Sefo got additional offers but chose not to report them to the sites seeing as how committed he was and how early he committed?

Where did they state they got other offers? I haven't seen that. Please show me.

I love Sefo and I think he has high upside. If MM2 likes him, I'm in. But some coaches had question marks on Sefo and I hope (and am betting) he proves them wrong.

Clay Norgard:

Norgard would have undoubtedly received more than the one scholarship offer from Colorado had he waited longer to make his decision. Stanford, UCLA, BYU, Syracuse, Kansas State, Air Force, Duke, Columbia, Harvard and Princeton have shown interest in Norgard, but they are aware that he is solid with his pledge to the Buffs.

I know that is not definite but I vividly recall Adam saying after he had talked to Clay that he had gotten a couple other offers. Hell, I already said that in his thread and Duff confirms it.

As for Sefo, I believe a family member on 247 said he had a couple other offers but never entertained them.

My basic point is that they both committed very early on, Norgard on 2/17/11 and Sefo on 4/15/12. Are you telling me it is unrealistic to believe that both picked up a couple more offers but never reported them because they were fully committed? Do we know for sure? No we do not but I think it's a good assumption to make.

So I think you are backing down from your statement above:

I'm just telling you a fact. Adam is not aware of either of them getting more offers, so you are misquoting him. I believe that both of these guys had enough exposure to get offers from their in-state schools, and other regional programs in the hopes that they would need a backup plan. They did not.

The orginal discussion came up when you brought up Sutton in another recruits' thread, and you stated he committed early, thus no other offers.....

As it pertains to Sutton, I think you are drinking the kool-aide if you really believe your own excuse here.

Sutton committed on 5/2/12 to Embree.

For comparison sakes, Longmont's own Isaac Miller had 4 offers on 5/2/13, and is soon to collect several more. He plays at a school that is immensely lower profile than Orange Lutheran. At Orange Lutheran, Sutton played with fellow class of 2013 offensive linemen John Lopez, who had 7 PAC12 offers, among many, and signed with UCLA. I think we can safely assume that Sutton had a lot of guys look at him. I'm confident quite a few more than Isaac Miller has had.

Guys are overlooked all the time due to playing at small, out-of-the-way programs, etc. I'm the biggest defender of offers to guys like Gillam, Fishback, Reid, etc. You can quickly see they suffer from lack of exposure.

Colin Sutton - not so much....

And he may turn out to be the steal of the class. But his lack of offers on May 2nd of last year, and lack of offers as the Embree Empire started to crumble is a red flag.

The offers keep coming in after a kid commits when the kid is coveted. This is why Duff called this a lame excuse.

Honestly who cares at this point?

If either had offers from WAC/MAC teams people would be bitching that we were competing against mid-majors. If they had mountain west offers people would be bitching that we are competing for players against schools that are not BCS teams, and if they had offers from BCS schools that finished last in their conferences people would be bitching that we were competing for players against BCS teams that suck.

We won 1 game last year and it feels like a decade since we were remotely relevant in college football. We are not going to beat out top 20 programs for players anytime soon. At this point we are fighting to be the tallest midget.

I'm just happy players that appear on film to have talent want to come here.
