Nice to see us adding another PG. Kyleesha should be solid for us next year, but we need some depth at the point. Thomas & Weston should be able to make each other better.

This is a commitment to get excited about.

Exactly. Plus, Brian Howell wrote that Desiree Harris '13 is a combo guard who will likely be a PG at CU. And B-Wil is an option at point for her senior year.

This is awesome. Thomas is a really good player. Congrats!

#cubuffs WBB has landed it's first 2014 commit - PG Brecca Thomas from the Houston area. LY: 20.4 ppg, 5.7 apg, 3.5 spg, 4.0 rpg

Great to have another point guard. Looks like she can shoot and dish assists in high school. Much needed.

Need to get some Texas schools on the schedule.

Welcome Brecca. Just a simple stats comparison to our last PG recruit's JR stats (Kyleesha Weston):

15.4 points/ 4.5 rebounds/ 4.5 steals/ 2.5 assists.

Sounds like a great get. She's #68 in the class of 2014 on BlueStarBB. Also 4 star on Prospect Nation, strengths as a defender, penetrator and playmaker.

Our women's basketball team is tantalizingly close to being one of the best in the country. Just a step or two behind the likes of Stanford, UConn, ND.

I completely forgot about Harris. Nice.

The top 4 are exceedingly difficult to over throw, but Lappe has this on the right track just like Boyle. Basketball could become a national power within the next 3 years at this point. Very exciting time to be a Buff

I realize that we're not there. We are getting there, though. The women's basketball program here has the potential to be elite.

Yup. We did beat the national title runner up at home. Both programs are getting close.

And have both Cal and Stanford everything they could handle. We belong.

Forgot about those four games. IIRC we had a size able lead against Cal at home before losing.

Kinkaid is a great private school in Houston. George W and Jeb, Sec Baker, and a lot of other prominent Texans went to Kinkaid. Stafford is a middle class suburb just south of Houston and just north of Sugar Land. Guessing she got a great education on a scholarship.

As best as I can tell Blue Star has her as #61 overall in her class. According to her HS school's athletic website she averaged 20.4 points/game, 5.7 assists/game, 4.0 rebounds/game, and 3.6 steals/game.
