CU cycling team takes 2nd at road nationals

If Cycling ever becomes an NCAA sport, CU better be first in line to add it. Just like skiing and xcountry, CU almost couldn't help but be among the best in the nation no matter what the administration did.

If it got to that level, it would benefit having Garmin-Sharp in town. We'd basically become a feeder team for them if NCAA teams became a popular route for upcoming cyclists. Not to mention all the other domestic teams that train and are based in Boulder. Unfortunately, that's not how the sport of cycling works though.

Same could be said for skiing, tennis and distance running. Many of the top prospects have sponsors while they're still in high school for those sports, too.
