Strengths:
Furstinger is very lengthy with long arms (7-foot-4 reach) and good hands. He has become considerably stronger and as a result he is finishing more plays through contact. He is deceptively quick off the floor and gets numerous tip-ins as a result. He can step out and convert jump shots at the elbow and is an astute passer from the post. In transition he can finish plays with a dunk or pass it off to an open teammate in stride.

Southern California big man visits CU - Rivals

...is getting interest from Washington State, UCLA, USC and of course Colorado.

While he has always liked the local UCLA, he was in Boulder last weekend for the Colorado Elite Camp.

"While he lacks bulk, he has skill and he's a sneaky baseline rebounder who gets putbacks when you don't expect them. As a shooter, he puts pressure on defenses because he can face up comfortably to 18 feet and his motor runs high," [National Basketball Recruiting Analyst Eric] Bossi wrote of his play in April.

Re: '14 CA PF Joe Furstinger

We are officially turning into Missouri circa 2010.

Tad would run circles around Anderson

Anderson's best attribute as a coach is the system he knows so well. In case anyone has somehow not caught on by now, Nolan Richardson's "40 Minutes of Hell" is my favorite college basketball system of all time. Anderson is Nolan's protege. He'll bring Arkansas back even though he's no Nolan.

My greatest hope for Tad and CU is that we are building toward our own "40 Minutes of Mile High Hell" with the same type of 3/4 to full court defensive intensity, fast breaks and wave substitutions.

Watching Mizzou clobber us at home made me a believer.
