School record, really? Does the record book actually track the number of captains per year? I always thought a "school record" should be an achievement of some kind, not just a statistical anomoly.

Anyway I like the picks - good to see Wood being recognized as a leader by the team. Would be cool if Nembot had been a captain just to have him face to face with the opposing team at the coin flip.

Sadly, last year was both. The 2012 Colorado Football team was the definition of Epic Fail.

well now you're just nitpicking

it IS a lot of captains, but whatever. the key is to heal and get the team's psyche back at least to the extent possible. if more captains are needed, then cool. this is a team that is going to be athletically overmatched, overall, in virtually every game this year. it will take a ****load of heart and want-to to win games.

How could one tell, based on the last two years?

This bunch was failed so badly by the last staff's collective incompetence starting with team psychology and unity, total lack of organization of practices, lack of a college-level S&C program, forced implementation of a NFL offensive scheme, a '70s style defensive scheme and a HC whose idea of motivation waivered between pouting and screaming obscenities at the players. Its absolutely a wonder that this team could even make the bus for a trip to any stadium they played in.

Go back and look at the resumes of each player and you will find talent there, but even the best talent couldn't have overcome such a massive coaching failure. There is truly no way to actually measure the level of talent present, except to see what can be accomplshed this fall. Are the Buffs two-three deep with HS AA's at every position like 'Bama? No, but I'm guessing they have starting talent roughly equal to 60% their opponents.

Now, it will come down to organization, player development, application, game-day coaching and will.

Unfortunately, that's simply wrong. We might win some games and we're not completely devoid of talent, but no way are we as talented as 60% of our opponents.

Anyway, congrats to the new captains. I especially can't wait to see P-Rich back on the field.

It is a tribute to Paul that his teammates perception of him put him in this role. He seems like a young man that overcame his mistake at UCLA with style and grace.

Derrick Webb being a two time Captain just goes to show how little talent we have. Was he even honorable mention Pac-12 last year?

As noted before, the last two years of this program were so f**ked up by the Water Bottle staff, its difficult to tell anything about the individual players' talent levels. Those guys could have screwed up Adrian Peterson (yeah, I know who EB coached at MN---as a pro!) and Tom Brady as college players with their total ineptness at every phase of coaching a college team!.
