Dillon not panning out - how big is this kick in the nuts?

How much of a kick to the nuts?

Not that bad. I remember there was some thread a few months ago that had a picture of Dillon. He looked REALLY skinny and had obviously not put in any work in the weight room. Whether that was due to his shoulder injury or something else, I'm not sure, but he most certainly was not ready to play in the Pac 12 and didn't seem to be making the strides to get ready.

When tini said he was going to pack on another 25 pounds over the summer and be the starter, I knew it was over.

Best of luck to him in the future. I think he made the right choice because football was most certainly not in the future for him at CU.

when you go into the season expecting 1 or 2 wins, nothing is a surprise. is it basketball season yet? at least there is something to be excited about.

Iron balls really isn't the right analogy. My balls simply can't be injured as they've already been kicked up into my torso.

Daaah summed it up pretty well. Between that photo and the spring practice reports, I had already written him off to some extent.

You must have a ****** memory

whelp, after spring ball I had more or less written him off anyways. Iron balls.

I prefer "Iron Balls McGinty."

Ehhh doesn't matter much IMO. Shane seemed like a solid kid, but we have too much depth there....I wouldn't make anything of his let down by the university comments....sounds like this goes back to the Embree firing. Best of luck to him, but this isn't going to help or hurt the 2013 buffs.

It is what it is, wish Shane the best at what ever he does next. As for the team we'll live we essentially lost a 3rd string QB, realistically Hirsch leaving hurts more than Dillon for next year.

This. Although we will never know for sure, it would be interesting to know if Gerhke coming in had any bearing in the decision.

Our situation at QB Is dire. We have a starter that looked like pure hell last year that we are depending on to not only play well, but to stay healthy all year long.

Disappointing that our elite 11 QB with offers from all over the place (allegedly) is yet another in a long line of non-contributors. Someday we'll hit on one of these kids and it'll change our fortunes. Someday..

If his true desire is to play BB, I wonder if he bothered to try & talk to Tad? Unless he sucks at BB, the D II BB might be his best choice.

Not that demoralizing. People on here overrated him because of the Elite 11, which remember little hawk was chosen for also. He didn't actually have any 4-star ratings and his offer list was solid but nothing spectacular. Given that my expectations were never that high.

No he was actually a 4* on Rivals for a bit, so you're inaccurate their (shocking). People rated him highly because of his rankings and offers, the Elite 11 was just icing on the cake at the time.

4-star for a bit? But what did he end up as? That's like saying that some team was preseason top-25 and still are top-25 even after they finished 4-8.

Just being technical

tini was talking about himself! tini has packed on another 15 lbs of useless fat in his beer gut and will be the starter (at the first tee at Fox Hills), if he can get his sorry ass out of bed by 5:30 am!

Get your stories straight!

Q is right, though. It's only relevant because QBs commit so early and when we learned that CU had offered, Dillon was a 4*. He may have still been a 4* at the time he committed. I remember a lot of hope that didn't pan out surrounding an early commit from a 4* QB in Cali possibly leading to a domino effect of highly-rated WRs, TEs and OLs from SoCal wanting to play with him. He seemed pretty well connected.

I'm fairly certain he was a 4* when he committed. It wasn't long after that the traditional post-CU verbal drop took place. Still ended a high 3* 5.7 rr though, IIRC.
