Kiszla is at it again

Meh. While Kiz is full of ****, he is absolutely right that it is amatuer hour right now up at CU. Any local press that puts public pressure on the admin to get their **** together is good in my opinion.

Very strange article. The writing style is very abrupt and lacks any flow. You are right about him not making a point.

Where does this guy get off writing this kind of sh*t? I realize there may be a few people that agree with what he's saying. But nothing in that article really justifies moving to the MWC. I imagine that when CU does turn the corner he'll still be writing crap like this. Linky 4 U.

Jizla doesn't care.....He writes sh*t so people will get upset, click on the DP website and read his column.

Ignore him.

if he wants to troll our admin all the more power to him.
I'm not reading the article, but if this is the case then he finally wrote something worthwhile. It is amateur hour in Boulder right now. We don't even belong in the WAC/MWC.

I've somewhat changed my mind on the Denver Post. You could make the case that the continued public smackdown will embarrass CU into change, although 10 years is a long time to wait.

What needs to be run in the post is a long, well reasoned editorial questioning how DuiStephano still has a job.

That got my blood boiling more than any article I can recall by Kizla. The amateur hour claim may be true right now, but there isn't a single mention of the powers that be having any part of it. He thinks CU as an entity doesn't belong in the PAC-12, but by all analyses CU is a prime contender there. Academics, student body, culture, and a great population surrounding the school up and down the front range. Looking just at the schools themselves, how could you say CU belongs in the PAC-12 any less than ASU, UA, WSU, UU, OSU? Stanford has been a national powerhouse recently and tehy can't even fill up their stadium! It should be clear to any journalist that the issue is that the people in charge are mismanaging the football program (and preventing the AD and coach to even have a chance for success) and that has led to the demise of a once great program. Kizla is so stuck on his MWC hissyfit a few years ago that he can't see outside of the present situation. The big picture shows that CU is capable of great things, and we will be back once we can get proper support and management.

This was a great opportunity to turn up the heat on Distefano, but instead he just made CU look like a nuclear waste zone with no hope.

If I looked at the last few years on the football field couldn't I say that CSU doesn't belong in the MWC and should go to the RMAC? And pretty cute that Kiszla puts Boise and CSU on the same level yet in the last 2 yrs the scores of those games were 63-13, 42-14. Yeah that's some real close games. F off Kiszla.

Hey! A reporter wrote an inflammatory article because he wants a reaction from CU fans. Let's all react!

Don't take the bait. It might seem tasty, but ignore it.

I don't understand the point of his article.

Everyone knew that CU would have some budget difficulties when they made the move. First, CU had to pony up a bunch of money to leave the Big 12. Second, CU knew they weren't going to get any money from the Pac-12 for a couple years. Result = budget shortfall. The budgetary issues aren't a new development. Everyone knew that is what would happen when the conference change was made.

I don't understand the premise of his piece. Is he saying CU should not have taken the Pac 12 conference invite, and it's $30+ million payout on an annual basis? Surely he isn't so bat**** ****ing stupid to make that assertion. Is he saying CU would be better off in a dog**** conference, like the WAC or the MWC, where they could be guaranteed annual contenders, but suffer from huge budgetary issues as those two conferences pay their respective teams less than $5 million per year?

Kiz wrote that article that said CU should be in the MWC before CU accepted that Pac-12 invite came and I had the guts to say that CU should go to the MWC mainly because the CU administration wasn't showing that they were serious about having a BCS level athletic department instead of a midmajor pretending to be a BCS AD.

Kiz caught wind that CU was going to hire a new AD and posted that new article. You should applaud Kiz for this since he is taking the CU admin to task again.

Pac-12 will eventually work out for CU and we already have at least two rivals in Arizona and Utah. I believe ASU will become one once we finally beat them in football...they already are ticking us off in basketball.

You should be applauding Kiz for that article.

But Kiz is right that the Big 12 is doing very well and some Big 12 schools will be earning more $$$ than CU. Texas is racking in $15 million a year from the LHN and I heard that OU's third tier rights are worth $8 million per year.

Perhaps Mike Bohn might be the primary cause of CU appearing more of a MWC school than a Big 12 or Pac-12 school. Today's hiring of George showed me and hopefully other Buff fans that CU is serious about their sports but we will see how that pans out.

Not reading anything written by Jizla. Now that Bichette's back in town, I wonder if Jiz is still trying to sniff around his locker?

I can only hope so ... so that Dante has an excuse to beat the bloody pulp out of him.

One thing, the writer does not write the headline. At least I don't think so. The headline was a bit misleading related to the column itself.

What a ****ing troll.

People still read him? I'm sure he had honorable intentions----but that was so badly written it didn't even come close to accomplishing whatever he wanted to accomplish. Let's all get on board with Rick George and Coach Mac and see what these guys can do here!

This is an honest question: Would CU be making more money in the Big 12 right now? I have no idea, but Jizsla says that "The Big 12 is making more in bowl payouts and TV rights than any other of the big 6 conferences"

Is that true? I don't see how it is.

I refuse to read his article and question his general take without links to stats or quotes. I understand editorial articles have more leeway, but with the transparency of data, I will not except statements like this without backing.

So, he writes like he talks.

Call that incoherent, stuttering mumble-mouth murmuring "talking"? His farts make more sense than what comes out of his pie-hole.

Typical, a midget who can't run, throw or catch, becomes a "sports expert/writer" to make up for the fact that the kids in his neighborhood used him for first base! Not play first base, just the base itself!

And the shear genius of his idea: Cure current financial woes by walking away from $20 million a year in the PAC, to accept $5 million a year from the MWC----f*cking Brilliant!

Reducing revenue is always the best way to cure a budget shortfall! Why didn't I think of that?

He talked about staying in the Big 12 as if CU had a choice. The PAC 10 had just extended an invite to half of the Big 12 conference and NU was gone to the Big 10. Even if Colorado didn't want to go to the PAC 12 (which they did), it was simple survival at that point. I remember thinking the MWC was a real possibility when Baylor started rumbling about using the Texas state government to force the PAC 12 to invite them or nobody was going. Of course, this is just another reason that Kiz is such a hack.

I never thought there could be poorer sports journalism than what (cough, cough) Tim (the hack) Griffin would write when he worked for eee s pee in. But Jizzla has taken it to an astonishing new low.
