Can Mike MacIntyre lead Colorado to a winning season?

A winning season should be the goal next year. Sadly, this year, four wins would be great. That was a god, positive article - if it weren't so well written, you might mistake it for 'tini's handy work.

We're going to learn a lot about our players this year. They obviously failed in Embree's (or lack there of) system. If they also can't win in the new staff's system, we are probably looking at a 3-4 year rebuilding period before any bowl games are even feasible.

Surprised Grantland gave CU any notice. Seriously though, it's a good read. I predict a 3-0 start. Yeah, I said it. Please refrain from quoting this in September.

I'm willing to give MM a couple years to get his recruits in the program before I expect a winning season from him. This program has been absolutely gutted over the last decade.

MacIntyre is a really good coach...i know some arkansas fans wanted him when the job was open. Colorado is obviously a better program than what you guys have shown the past few years and all it takes is one guy to turn a program around, look how much buzz ole miss is getting now from recruits. We don't get much pac-12 football here but ill be pulling for you against USC for sure haha

As long as you take it easy week 2 at least

Like it or not, realistically you have got to give him a minimum of 3 years before you can expect a winning season.

Fk that. I am putting HCMM down for a bowl in year 2. Could end up a losing season as we could go 6-6 and lose the bowl, but I think we should realistically hope for a toilet bowl by next season.

I'm about ready to give Mac 5 years, regardless of the results. Our program is completely demolished, and it could take him awhile to get it fixed.

All I'll say is I think we have the right guy. I wouldn't say we will have a winning season this year, we will tho with time.

I just want to see some sort of competitive games. Last year, we were lucky to be competitive until 1/2 time, then it was blowout time.

What a crock! The football team's psyche was totally demolished by as incompetent a HC as ever coached, but the talent is there for a decent staff to put together a few wins this season. And don't give me the "an SJSU staff is not BCS" crap!

Why don't you back up your overly blustery BS with some real analysis? (if you're even capable of more than negative, cynical hyperbole-questionable!) I see a lot of solid 3* guys with a sprinkling of 4*s all over the roster. Your real beef is with the WB FUBAR, not the kids.

I am with you and just started a thread about the fact that we have talent on our roster and if HCMM is a competent coach (and all indicators suggest he is) than we should be competitive in many more games this year and win some of them too.

We haven't been to a bowl game in what, 7 years? We've mostly been recruiting at the bottom of our conference. We have a new AD, languishing fan support, a new coach and staff, subpar facilities. We have no depth, and our teams continue to be decimated by injury, attrition, and forced playing time for youth.

There is no quick fix. If we are going to be successful again, this AD, school, and football team need to turn around and build a solid and healthy base to move forward. That takes time and commitment from a huge number of people.

big difference between CU rebuilding and ole miss:

ole miss is committing big time dollars to recruiting. allegedly.

Who the **** is Grantland?

This, and based on what they had said about the duck, "This is the best mascot. No arguments will be accepted.", I'm pretty sure the only thing they know is who they're talking to at the moment. For Ralphie, they only said they may have to amend that statement, proving they're just idots.

Her article summarizes my reasons for being hopeful. Really well written and knows Ralphie's gender.

The author, Holly Anderson, used to write with edsbs.com, she knows her stuff and is pretty funny. Her twitter feed was pretty good till she joined grantland and the espn monolith, so she's toned down the humor a bit unfortunately.
