Deaysean Rippy to transfer to CU

WTF. Believed to be a relative of?

The source says the 6-foot-2, 205-pound Rippy is believed to be a relative of Doug Rippy,

Why? I ask because I have no clue about him other than a fading memory.

1. Adds size & athleticism (talent) to our LB corp.

2. Shows that HCMM is connecting with former Buffs he never coached if Deaysean is coming despite Doug & Cabral no longer being here.

Wonder if DR contacted the Buffs or if Coach Mac's staff had the initiative to follow up. If the latter, it speaks well of this group.

Don't get me wrong, this is a good thing. I just refuse to get too excited about it. Let's wait and see with this kid. Especially with all the drama that went down only a short while ago.

Does nothing to change my earlier statement

Good question, I'd guess the former though, seems like we've always been in the back of his mind.

Should have been a Buff in the first place. Glad to have him much needed speed into our LB core

Rippy was never widely considered a legitimate D1 talent. He was majorly overrated. Good kid, by any accounts that I've heard, though. Wish him the best of luck.

His offer list says different, along with his ranking.
