Hobbs, Johnny Stuart and Gerald Thomas are leaving the team

More schollies available. Right? Is this part of a plan? Kind of like Bzdelic's?

Any unsigned Juco TEs who could get in this late and push for a starting job? Comb the nation, coaching staff!

Otherwise, errrr... hey, more scholarships for 2014!

Nope, these schollies will remain unused for another calendar year due to NCAA rules about players leaving due to personal reasons. The school must maintain their spot in case they are able to return.

Whoa. Good info. Reading GT already intends to transfer to an FCS. If he enrolls does that void the scholarship being held at CU?

It hurts, especially Hobbs. But we really need to get the attrition at WR under control. It has been hurting us for the last 7-8 years.

Well, it sounded like GT was a goner from a while back, and Hobbs has kind of been on the bubble with his father's health condition, so those two are not a surprise. Hobbs probably hurts the worst. Stuart was an intriguing prospect, I was hoping after a RS year we might get to see him play. Good luck to all three, GT will now be a Bearkat...Huntsville TX is lovely this time of year...not.

That's disappointing, mostly on Hobbs. I think we'll see McCulloch slide in there during the season, especially since they line up in the slot

Definitely sucks but 2 of the 3 were kind of expected. I agree with others that Hobbs is probably the biggest loss.

Not good. I expected all three to contribute this year, particularly Hobbs and GT. They both showed potential last year. Best of luck to them.

Need to put some weight on McCulloch and try him in some sort of flex WR/TE role to get him one-on-one against one of the opponents' slower linebackers. 6-7 yard possession catches to draw some attention off our fast guys and get them open. Otherwise I don't trust the current TE crop's hands. Any of them.

I expected Hobbs and Thomas, Stuart I didn't. As has been mentioned, Hobbs hurts the most. Oh well, it's almost time to strap it up, somebody needs to seize the openings now. Good luck to the three leaving.

Sometimes it's easy to forget that "life" is more important than sports. These kids made have mulled a very tough decision, and it seems like they waited until the last minute instead of letting emotions influence their judgement. Can't fault them for doing what they feel is right for them and their families. Yeah it hurts us a bit, but we will recover.

Thanks for your time in the Black n' Gold and I wish these kids nothing but the best.

So much for all that talent that Embo recruited - Dillon, GThomas, Hobbes, Stuart

With Hobbs leaving and not much depth at TE, we might have been able to move someone over to TE who was, say, not working out at DE but played TE pretty well in high school... like Johnny Stuart.

I guess I see it differently. I do not wish any harm to any of them. That said, they are no longer Buffs and deserve no continued loyalty.

That's harsh man. They didn't spurn us out of spite. IMO once a Buff always a Buff(except when you turn against use like Water Bottle). Even though I don't agree with how Klatt handled himself after the Water Bottle dumping, I still have a tiny bit of respect for him, simply because he's an Alum and seems to be on board now. No respect for WB though, he can die tomorrow and I'll spit on his grave.
