You mean teaching fundamental tackling techniques and pursuit angles is actually paying off? Say it isn't so.
 
Laugh and accuse me of guzzling the kool-aid if you want to, but I'm buying in. I don't think this is a bowl team (unless everything that can go right does go right), but I do think this team will be light-years ahead of last year simply because we have a competent group of coaches. 4-5 wins, including upsets of Fresno (who CBS said could run the table----speaking of kool-aid) and UA.

It would be glorious if they went 11-1 with their only loss to us. Not only would it be revenge for last year, but revenge for 2001.

I must be a masochist because I am right there with you. Something feels entirely different about this staff and this team. Like they all know what they are supposed to do. Now whether or not they can actually execute is another matter entirely, but there is actually a plan and it seems everyone knows that plan.
 
Well is it a consensus that our DBs are the most physically talented position on the team? good coaching should make them a solid unit.
 
Does this mean no more gashers? For the last 6-7 years I have never seen so many long td runs or long td passes or flat out huge gainers as I have seen against our beloved Buffs. Teams break off 40 yard runs like simple 3 yard gains against us. I long for the day when our defense can play sound defense and keep people in front of them. For far too long 3rd and 8's seemed like gimme first downs for our opponents. Please be right Mike Mac. Restore some pride in this defense.
 
I'm not ready to move off my win expectation but if given the chance, I might lock in some preseason lines taking points.

You seen our schedule? Cupcake city, though next year isn't as kind.
 
We are fans because we can be kicked in the teeth for years and not only keep coming back but come back believing. I love what M2 and his staff are doing, I think we are light years ahead of where we were last year and will only continue to get better. This is a staff that took a team that had been a doormat for years, that was bad their first year, and coached them into a bowl and a top 25 ranking.

With all that we can be a much better football team than last year and still be a bad team. I still think that 3-4 wins would be a good year. We are going to win a couple that we should, a couple that maybe we shouldn't, and still be overmatched in most of our games no matter how well we play.
 
Ok... I admit it..... I'm a KOOL AID boozer! After last year, I may I have hit bottom..... No where to go but up! :cheers:
 
Last year we chugged the kool-aid, only to discover that someone made it with salt, not sugar.
 
Shortly before that quote MacIntyre says the DB's had "some good, some bad moments" (paraphrase). So "light years of improvement" must mean the secondary has elevated from god awful to borderline mediocre since the spring.

My advice to all would be to skip the kool-aid until we play Fresno.

Coach Clarke and Larussa are the real deal i think! looked much improved in practice! kenny broke up a deep ball to p.rich during scrimmage today

Chido looks like he'll make an impact right away. same with jimmie gilbert

Well **** a duck Flounder. Rep for such a young guy wanting revenge for the 2001 game. You just went up a notch in my book. And my girls first time in the ocean was off the west side of Amelia Island. Was a great great day.
 
So, in our first game, will the CB's give a 10 yard cushion at the line of scrimmage or jam 'em at the line of scrimmage? I got SO sick of watching them give huge cushions on each and every play.

Crawley and Wright have the physical make up of two shut down corners. Now whether or not the coaches can get them playing like that is another thing all together. Would love to see no drop off when Wright comes to give Henderson a breather.
