Looks like Bennion might be No. 11 ... via Twitter

@AFalkTrib
In other #TribPreps news, Logan coach Mike Favero told me this morning that 2014 DE Sam Bennion will commit to play at Colorado.

Weber State is his only other offer? Not even a Utah State offer? :huh:

This is like someone in Utah questioning why a CO recruit doesn't have a Northern CO offer... Sometimes, the small schools know they've got no chance or the player is unwilling to look at them. I'm guessing that he had a great camp and the coaches liked his film so they offered. Nothing wrong with being the first BCS school to offer if you trust your evaluations. Depending on how he grows, he could stay at DE or move inside or play OL. Big athletic guys are good to stock up on IMO.

:bang: I was questioning why he didn't have offers from any school in Utah except Weber State. Weber State is the small school there, so according to your logic it would be like the big schools thinking they have no chance.

I don't trust any of the coach's analysis right now. Not because I don't like them, but because I have drank the kool-aid before. I do know that MM recruited Patrick Willis, and Gilliam looks promising, so he obviously can spot talent. I also like stocking up on big guys.

Does he not have offers from Utah, BYU or Utah State because he hasn't camped there? Or is he just not reporting them because he wants to gtfoo Utah?

Watching the longer highlight film, I like how he fills the lanes, gets in, doesn't get out of position. He is also like Chance Waz. When he gets out there one on one, the other guy is going down. For a big guy, he hunts down the RBs and Qbs very well. Tackles, doesn't miss, has a good motor. I don't know about the competition level he plays against, but he was a man among boys at the level he is at.

Agreed with 'Tini, might be a bit premature. I'd hope the Salt Lake Tribune was legit, but who knows these days. Can't find any other confirmation.

Our profile only lists the Weber St. offer but Rivals is now reporting he had offers from Utah and BYU. Not sure about you guys but that is a relief to me. I wasn't as excited about beating out Weber St, but beating out the top 2 programs in his home state sounds a lot better.
