Clearly, being an objective and thorough sports journalist is even more difficult.

I didn't want to link on the DP link, but can someone outline the arguement?

It seems laughable on the surface that a top 25 all-time winning team affiliated with a BCS AQ conference with a nationally recognized brand, some major award winners, a national championship and and a disproportionate winning record against other state programs might be at a disadvantage. But I'm sure I'm missing something.

It's tough because of the hole that has been dug. Of course, Kizla and his ilk have been doing everything in their power to dig that hole a little deeper. Kizla isn't exactly making things any better.

Basically, his argument is that since CU can only sell 30,000 tickets to the CSU game, MacIntyre has no support.

OK, wait a sec... did he bother to mention how many tickets CSU has sold? If they've sold half as many as CU has, does that mean they have half the support?

Nope. Not one single mention of CSU's ticket sales. But even if he did bring that up - it would only be to say that CSU is the "little brother" and they aren't supposed to sell any tickets. In my opinion, CU has sold about 25,000 tickets too many for this dog**** game.

CU was putting close to 50,000 fannies in the stands during the worst year in CU football history. Kiszla says that saying CU basketball being cited as a model for how football can succeed is "balderdash." I say balderdash to Kiszla. CU had the most apathetic bball fans in the NCAA, or close to it. What did they do? Built the facilities and hired the right coach. That led to good recruits and winning which has led to some of the best fan support in the NCAA. There are a TON of folks out there waiting to embrace CU football. A TON! When CU starts winning, this thing can and will take off.

and then some people wonder why i wouldn't buy a copy of the denver post if my life depended on it.

talentless hacks with evil intent.

it reminds me of some of the more aggressive religious cults out there: not only must you admit that their way (on your knees, servicing the broncos, not matter what) is the one true path to glory, but you must also destroy any infidel groups who don't worship at the same altar as you.

the Broncos are the ONE TRUE PATH. death to the non-believers!

ridiculous. the reason these hacks are still in denver is that they have no other place to go. no self-respecting media outlet would hire this guy or hendo-perv. they make less than my secretary and they are bitter and resentful about their lot in life.

i wouldn't piss on a dp sports writer or editor if he or she were on fire.

And if you had opened today's Denver Post, you would have found a single column blurb by John Henderson on CU football along with several pages of Bronco coverage. The DP used to have some pretty good college football preview stuff on Fridays. I do suspect Saturday and Sunday will have more. One thing for sure, The DP needs to relegate Henderson to soccer and gymnastics and find a decent beat writer for the Buffs. CSU has a better beat writer than the Buffs do.

It seems like this debate is focused yet again on the number of tickets sold. There's way more than just stupid ticket numbers.

What about the lack of support from the CU admin? Pat Bowlen knows that if he doesn't give support to the Broncos, there will be empty seats at SAF.

What about the political and social enviroment in Boulder versus Denver or other places in Colorado?

Says the one who moved a CSU-CU thread that I started to the Island then started a new CSU-CU thread.

Hypocrite moderator.

Nash, I'm sure it got moved to the Island because the next 30 comments were people ripping on you. I don't think trying to pick a fight with Duff will work out well for you.

The lack of tickets sold has nothing to do with fans "support" of the football program. CU fans aren't buying tickets because: 1) they can't stand the series with CSU, and want to get out of it ASAP; and, 2) they can't stand the game being played in Denver, and want the game returned to campus.

Support from the CU admin is there, if you haven't been paying attention.

The first question I had was if this was the hardest sports job in CO or the hardest job period. Because I know we all have our preferences in what we like to focus on and what we think is important, but I'm pretty sure there's a lot tougher jobs in this state.

But, even if it's only sports related, wtf. I guess it's just Jizzla doing what he does best, ****ing with people, because he really doesn't have the journalistic skill to do anything better. OTOH, at least the ****er realizes that CU is the only program worth trying to **** with people about. If he ****s with CSU, he'll get about 10 people riled up.
