OK - most of you know I'm a big Pat Tillman guy.... And this is a nice thing that ASU has done.

But I grew up watching ASU, usually from atop the Mountain until they would open the gates and I'd sneak in. So perhaps I'm sensitive on this:

"The way Pat lived -- the Sun Devil Way -- is something we teach our team about every day," coach Todd Graham said. "Now the final thing they will see before taking the field is the embodiment of everything he stood for -- and everything we hope to emulate and accomplish."

-and-

"Pat's principles are such an important part of everything we do," said Steve Patterson, ASU's vice president for university athletics. "The values he represented and the tradition he built upon helped bridge the gap between the field and the community, so it is fitting that this tunnel bears his legacy."

Are you kidding me? The Sun Devil Way? The team who has marched more bad dudes and thugs out on the turf than any team in PAC history? I'm sorry, honor Pat Tillman and honor him as a Sun Devil, but do NOT try to tell me that he was great because he was a Sun Devil doing it the Sun Devil way. I absolutely hate this ****.

Take an American Icon who died for his country and let's try to market ourselves with it? Bush League.

Yeah, comes off as very self serving.

Doesn't surprise me that it comes off as full of ****. That's Todd Graham. The guy drips sincerity like a televangelist and it usually takes a few years until those around him realize it's all wind.

I hope he ends up as the next Nebraska coach!

The way Pat lived "the ASU way".... Mrs Tillman just barfed.
