Win big, and we are bowling for sure?
Barely win and we are much improved?
barely lose and we are still much improved?
get our asses kicked and we are really no better than last year?

We know we're better than last year, regardless of this outcome. I expect we'll lose, but can we execute when under more duress?

Win big and we are the surprise team of the year
Just win and we are definitely much improved
Just lose and we are definitely much improved
Lose big and we are slightly improved.

Winning by any margin means we'll be competitive with the lesser lights of the Pac-12 (at least at home), but not a shoe-in for a bowl.

Losing a competitive game means we'll struggle to get four wins.

Getting blown out means a season looking for improvement instead of wins.

get our asses kicked and we are really no better than last year? No. Fresno looks pretty darn good to me. As long as we show effort and don't quit I will be happy. With our O-line, this game could get ugly quickly, especially if turnovers do not go our way.

Fresno St would probably finish as the 6th or 7th best Pac 12 team. They aren't bad at all.

Win big, and we are bowling for sure? -------Even if Fresno doesn't play defense I don't see a big win, but a win none the less.
Barely win and we are much improved? ------ I don't care if they win ugly as long as they get the W
barely lose and we are still much improved? -- If the Buffs were to totally outplay Fresno & lose, that might be a hard pill for them to swallow.
get our asses kicked and we are really no better than last year? -- Can't see this happening. After last years debacle with Fresno they should have plenty of motivation.

A big win tells us that Carr probably left the game in the first quarter with an injury, and that their back up sucks.

Big win- very positive, maybe start looking at 2-3 more wins for the year depending on how things in the PAC goes. Way too early to think about bowl.
Win- No different than a big win.
Barely lose- not the end of the world, still much work to be done with the team
Get drilled and it will be a really bad omen going into PAC play. I think Fresneck would be a middle of the standings team in the PAC.

If we win, we are 3-0 which means we need just at least three wins to get into a bowl game.

I would be more confident about CU's chances to win in Corvallis...I have listed that and the Utah game as games that CU could win on the road this year. The other winnable games to me would be at home against Cal, Arizona, and USC was my upset special before the season started. That's seven wins at the most that CU could get this season but will we get there? We shall see.

THIS!

Like to see the confidence the team displayed against the lambs and the mid 4th qtr. on against UCA!

Would be a really good moment to put it together for 4 quarters! I believe we will play well in this game.

I guess the unanswered question for me is whether the improvement for real?

We seem so dramatically better. Did the team really put forth that poor an effort last year, or did the competition in those first two games really stink. We seem dramatically faster at each position. Can our secondary hang with some speed guys? (so far they have benefited from some dropped balls and misses by QB's, but also seem better).

What happens in the fourth quarter. Was the fact that the team last week could only travel 2/3 of a roster what pushed us through in the end, or is our fitness that good?

Lots of unanswered questions for me.

Big win - don't know what that means. Lots of point expected for both.
Barely win - 2003 Ohio State barely won ALL of their games.
Barely lose - Fresno State is probably better than Oregon State, Cal, Utah, and USC
Lose in a blow out - see "Barely Lose"

We will see FSU amass lots of yards and lots of big plays.
I'm looking toward one thing. Can "this" defense bend and not break. Can they mentally come back for the next play?

If we Lose in a Blow out, we will know the Psyche of the team. I expect a "barely", and in either of those cases, we are much improved.

We are improved and improving. No result from this game is going to change that.

Fresno has more talent than us. Simple truth. I think MM is a better coach than DeRuyter, but I don't think that matters in this game.

I don't see a situation where we win big, but if did somehow, I see us being more than competitive with the lower tier of the Pac-12, which means 3 more wins and bowl game is possible, but not assured.

A close game, win or lose, is what I expect. If we win, great, that's 3-0 and we know that MM has us on the right track, but as I said, we already know that. If we lose a close one, I don't think it says any more or less than a win, just makes it probably impossible to get into a bowl game, regardless of what kind of surprise we are in the conference.

If we lose in a blowout, I think we'll all be disappointed, but I think it will show us that our talent level has to improve before we can get to a competitive level in the Pac and bowling become a real possibility. In other words, the project will be longer out than we hoped it would be.

All I really want to see from this game is consistent effort. I think we've seen the competitive desire from this team. With last year's coaching staff, I have no doubt we would be 0-2 at this point and looking down the barrel of a winless season. What we've seen thus far is a team that is willing to work hard even when adversity strikes. I want - expect - to that again this week. Last year the Fresno game was the most humiliating game I've ever seen a Buff team a part of. Much more humiliating than Montana St or Sacramento St, because of the way we gave up. I don't think that will happen again, but I want to see it to be sure.

Just lose and we are poised for a Big XII Championship.

I don't know if it will tell us anything about the future but this will be the first real test for this team. I think CU's defense will be tested and we will see how CU fares. A big key to this game will be special teams. Fresno has some good returners. If CU decides to pooch kick and give Fresno a shorter field that is going to put a lot of pressure on our defense.

I think this game will say a lot about special teams. If we struggle again, time to take some drastic action there.

Time to really figure out who we are, imho. We've beaten two teams we had more talent than. We made mistakes, and still won. That is encouraging. Now the odds are going to be stacked against us the rest of the way. Is this season going to be (1) a search for a bowl win, or (2) a search for glimpses of a foundation for the future? So far, I think we've only seen proof as to #2.

If we win, it shows we can beat low and mid-tier Pac teams. Keep it close it shows we can compete with low and mid-tier Pac teams.

Blue letters? Hmmmmm... Are you Buffwest???

I am convinced of the coaching...this staff has these guys playing really well.

I'm still wondering about the talent level. Do the first 2 games indicate good talent or just good coaching lined up against similar to inferior talent??

If this game is competitive (win or lose) it tells me we have the talent to be bowl eligible (not that we'll win 6). Lose in a blowout and that tells me we need more talent.

Go Buffs! Beat the Methsno Bulldongs!

The punt returner Burse is the good one. Dillon Root at KR is speedier but he's still learning the ropes.
