Hawaii On Oct 19?

Here is a new one, per a tweet from a Hawaii bases journalist:

@StephenTsai: UH mulling $600,000 offer to play Colorado Oct. 19 in Boulder. Decision expected Wednesday.

Come on Norm. The Buffs are easy pickings, bring your rainbow warriors to Boulder!

Interesting that they are playing CSU the following week. Are they exploring the possibility of staying in CO between the two games?

CSU plays them there. Hawaii has always had cash issues, and didn't have 13 scheduled.
My bad. You are correct. I just saw CSU on their schedule and immediately wondered if they were trying to lump the two together into 1 road trip.

Guaranteed W
For Hawaii? Didn't they light us up last time with that QB that wasn't a running QB but ran all over us. Half joking here because our team is very different with infinitely more competent coaching. Does Hawaii suck now?

3-9 last year

Hawaii beat Lamar, UNLV, and South Alabama last year.

We're obviously better this year and a late Oct game is of great benefit to us

Hawaii is a good option since it might not cause any changes to future schedules other than the remaining need to fit a home game against Fresno State somewhere. We've already got a bunch of games with Hawaii in the future, so I'm not sure they'd require anything other than a nice payday for adding a game this year.

Our talent level >>>>>>>> Hawaii's

That said, I don't take any games as guaranteed Ws yet.

Somebody wake up Ringo.

Ringo has already tweeted about it. 9:08 am:

@KyleRingo: Replacing Fresno State with Hawaii would be a nice fix to this problem for the #CUBuffs. Winnable game in Boulder for an improving team

Since Hawaii is 4 hours earlier than us (I think), we may not get a decision from them until late afternoon or the evening.

sounds like it is gaining traction...but does $600,000 seem kinda low? I am sure it cost some $ to get a team and equipment over here from Hawaii?

There might be another game out there in the future involved in this....

Plus they run on Hawaii time. So add in another 30-45 minutes at least along with the 4 hour time difference.

Note to the local GJ radio humps: In this case, UH stands for the University of Hawaii, not the University of Houston, or Cougar High, like you've been reporting all morning. 30 seconds of research might have told you Houston is playing BYU that day, but I guess that's a bit much to ask for...

They have radio there?
