No Hawaii game. Where do we go from here? I personally feel we really need a 12th game. We need to use this season to get our players ready for regular bowl runs. Our young players need more live game experience. Our fans need something to root for. We should give PRich a legit opportunity to lead the nation in receiving yards, etc. HCMM wants to play 12 games.

Is the only real option now an FCS game? I can't believe for financial reasons and others that the Pac 12 and RG will give up on a 12th game.

Are either of these options still a possibility?

- Fresno and UNLV rescheduling their game and Fresno coming to Boulder on 10/19?
- Playing Fresno on 12/14?

Pick up someone, anyone. Dip into FCS if you have to. Don't give up the cash of a home game just because of pie-in-the-sky worries about bowl qualification.

+1 I am not worried about bowl qualification either. If we somehow manage to get to 6 wins, we will find out how good RG is at negotiating with the NCAA. I

f not, one more reason BCS teams can use to breakaway from the NCAA and it would give our team a chip on its shoulder for next year like Tad's team had after getting screwed by the selection committee.

I agree. Heck, play UNC. I'm confident George has a backup plan. Just wish this would get settled soon.

UNC has a game that day. I think our only shot is to get a FCS team that has a bye. Partial list that I compiled earlier:

Portland State, Alabama A&M, Alabama State, Charlotte, Houston Baptist, Stetson, Jacksonville State, Central Connecticut State, Wagner, St. Francis, Charleston Southern, Gardner Webb, South Carolina State, Delaware, James Madison, Stony Brook, The Citadel, Georgia Southern, Samford

I think that we've demonstrated our due diligence in 1) trying to reschedule with Fresno, 2) trying to schedule a FBS team. Given all the givens, I would think we're a shoe-in for a waiver. We must get a game on the schedule so our AD doesn't take a $$$ hit.

UNC already has a game scheduled on 10/19 unless you're talking about a different date.

If we're going to start considering FCS teams then Charlotte has an open date on 10/19 and I'm sure they wouldn't mind the payday in their first season.

Which one of those schools sucks the most?

Fun Facts to Know:

Stetson is actually called the "Hatters".

Portland State played at Cal this year and lost 37-30.

The problem with those teams is that they (probably) aren't able to play a 13-game season. I seriously doubt any of them have an 11-game season and just happen to have an open date on teh 16th.

We're screwed.

Petition the ncaa for Air Force being the closest team to play and hopefully they say yes because of the floods

If we are dependent on the NCAA making an exception just to schedule a game we probably are screwed as Sackman suggests

Idaho is already playing a 12-game schedule. They don't have Hawaii on their schedule, either. Forget this idea.

This is Stetson's 1st year of football since the 1950s. Any chance CU would schedule a 2 for one so I could see them in Deland? :)
