May as well keep this in one spot.

Use this thread to post your weather report updates and keen insights into how weather may affect play on Saturday.

Weather Underground is predicting 20 mph winds during the game and 100% chance of rain.

National Weather Service says the following for Saturday:

"Rain. High near 63. Breezy, with a south wind 6 to 16 mph increasing to 16 to 26 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between three quarters and one inch possible."

The stadium is Field Turf, so it may not be too bad with traction. Slick ball and wind are probably the main factors.

First quarter is going to be interesting. Long layoff and first road game would seem to say quick start by OSU, if going by conventional wisdom. Could be sloppy, so the start could be more important than usual.

Usually that kind of weather puts more pressure on the run game to perform. This game could come down to who can tote the rock better-and at this point in the season both teams suck at it.

However if I were a betting man, and yes I am a Kool-Aid drinker, I'd say if it ends up being a game won by who can run better, I'd put my money on CU.

Here is why: They are supposedly down 3-4 starting linemen. Their running game has been worse than ours-I know hard to believe. I also think we have a stable of decent (not world-class) backs and I also think inserting Adkins could be important in this game. Finally, we have had 3 weeks to work on improving the run game.

Doom?

Good thing we don't have an indoor practice facility.
I don't consider it a joke and it is actually a good point. Presumably, we have practiced in this crap for at least a few days already. This should present an advantage against those that didn't when game day is dire weather.

I know you are not making this point, but I will say it any way: Where a lack of a good indoor practice facility hurts is when the week day is inclement weather and the weekend is clear. That is a massive penalty.

That walrus has many issues, and I don't know where to start. Anyone from Chicago that can remember a Johnny B song that may come to mind?

Guys over on the Rivals board are suggesting we might break out Sefo in this game. Not a bad idea to get him some playing time focused on the read-option. He's also from the Pac NW so he is used to playing in rain we must assume. Puts less pressure on Connor to run a lot and gets Sefo some playing time. I am not suggesting Sefo starts and plays the whole game but it could be a good change of pace and something they haven't prepared for.

I also think inserting Adkins could be important in this game.

Agree with everything up to this. True freshman RB , first road game, from san diego, in the rain ...let's just say that boy best hold on to that rock with both hands.

Just checked out the weather again. Looks rough. Before gametime there will be thunderstorms too. Can you imagine if this game got cancelled due to weather? I know it won't happen b/c they are used to rain there and lightning is not forecasted in the afternoon. It is going to be a wet, sloppy game probably with a handful of turnovers.

I predict that if a team wins the turnover margin and has more rushing yards they will win. Might sound obvious but with 2 pass-happy offenses that is not always the case. Weather could be a difference maker in this game.

I predict a weather contrarian first CU offensive play... play action pass to PRich, d-back slips in coverage and a TD, of course. Wx not a problem.... :smile2:

Pissing rain and a stout wind from the south.
The remnants of a typhoon are hitting the Washington coast, with outer bands reaching Oregon.

It's captain ahab weather out there.
