1) LSU - first place I ever watched a college football game- incredible place to attend

2) Michigan - great fight song, great uniforms - I have lots of respect for them

3) Florida State - I know they have been dirty but for some reason I've always like them.
Could it be the years when they beat nebraska?

4) Washington - great college football setting - like CU, I'm surprised they haven't been
better over the years.

5) Fresno State- never affraid to schedule anybody - fan base helping Colorado flood
victims was class-

Air Force - I've always been a fan of the Zoomies, ever since I was a little kid growing up in the 719. Up until college, I had gone to more games in Falcon Stadium than Folsom.

Iowa - My dad grew up 60 miles from Iowa City, so we cheered for the Hawkeyes when I was a kid. I don't follow them, but when they're on I root for them.

Wisconsin - Almost all of my in-laws went there, it's a pretty campus, and they beat Nebraska with regularity. Works for me.

Fresno just got added to my list after the flood situation.

Oddly, most of my favorite teams other than CU can be found in the Pac. I like Stanford and I don't mind Oregon State and Washington State. I don't hate UCLA and I'm warming up to Cal. It's kind of strange to root for other teams in our conference.

Outside the Pac, I generally despise the entire B1G, but still have a soft spot for both Michigan (great tradition, great school...it's what college football is supposed to be, I think) and Wisconsin.

I feel a little kinship (which is dangerous, sexually speaking) with WVU, because I feel their successes and challenges tend to mirror our own. But I don't really root for them anymore, cause...you know (see below).

The following is a list of teams representing the Big 12 and the SEC for whom I cheer:

It takes enough energy just to tolerate CU right now.

I HATE every other team.

Air Force would be the only other team I cheer for ....

That said, I'm OK with Washington, UCLA (except in basketball), Michigan. Wisconsin might be on the list, except they are red, and that is the mark of the devil.

1. Alabama
-Best friends dad is from Tuscaloosca so every Saturday when CU wasn't at home we'd be over there watching Alabama and CU

2. Michigan
-A lot of family connections here on my moms side. Great stadium, classic color scheme and uniform scheme

3. Iowa State
-Mom went there, always a underdog and them beating NU in '09 was fantastic

4. Air Force
-Can't hate AF. Games are a lot of fun to go to. Actually, I have trouble rooting against any of the service academies.

5. Florida State
-Great logo and uniforms

HM: Fresno State. Very recent due to their efforts with the flood reliefs

Don't really root for anyone else. 100% all CU for me.

I guess I somewhat root for Iowa (dad's alma mater) and Indiana (mom's alma mater, but mostly basketball here)

Me too. I was born and raised in Louisiana. LSU football is a religion down there. All Buffs for me now.

I lived in Baton Rouge from 1975 till 1981. My sister lives and dies when LSU plays.
It's been nice of late to have a second team to root for that's been able to get 9+ wins
almost every year.

I have no problems rooting against Air Force.

Wow, didn't realize the LSU connection on this board.

1. Tulane: dad's alma mater, grew up watching them, all bad except 1998.
2. South Carolina: lots of family ties, good gameday experience. I did use to hate Spurrier, but now that he's there, I love him.
3. Michigan: as said, good tradition. Family friend played there and I know he diminished in the last years of his career, but I have alot respect for Lloyd Carr.
4. LSU: cliche to like them where I come from. I almost like cheering against them to see my friends upset. However, I do have to give them a little home state respect.
5. I don't care...Northwestern, Stanford, the good academic schools.

Washington - Live in Seattle, Husky Stadium old and new, great place to see a game, passionate crowds and a great history, as long as they aren't playing the Buffs, its Dubs up!

Syracuse - I am from Upstate NY and there is no other show in the State in terms of big time College football. Love the Orange and the Carrier Dome used is also a great place to see a game, not a bad seat in the house. Used to have season tickets and it is good to see them back to respectability post Greg Robinson.

Wyoming, Wisconsin, Stanford, North Dakota, North Dakota State, Northern Colorado

1) Georgia Bulldogs - Lived right next to a Bulldog cheerleader for 4 years in Savannah. HOT! I became a fan.

2) Pitt - became a fan back in the day with players like Dorsett and Marino

3) Virginia Tech - My niece went there so I root for them.

4) SMU - Same reason as Pitt. Eric Dickerson was one of my favorite all time players. Wish they could get back in the big boys club

5) Anyone who is playing the Nubs!

Wyoming - Always followed them, and then spent 6 years up there while my wife was in grad school.
AF - I was stationed in Colorado Springs, went to alot of games

1. Georgia - went to the CU game in Athens in 2006 and had an absolute blast and they became my 2nd favorite team after that. Also love that they are some of the few fans that don't believe we have a "co"-NC since they hate Tech. Then I ended up marrying into a Bulldawg family, so it's been an easy transition.
2. Wyoming - have always rooted for them versus CSU for some reason.
3. Michigan State - I guess because OSU and UM bug the crap out of me so I picked MSU by default in the Big 10.

Fresno-They've been tremendous with us during this flood thing.
Oklahoma-Not sure why
Georgia-The lessest of the SEC evils IMO
Miami-I don't care for that program, but I do like Al Golden
Air Force

That was a hell of a trip!

Princeton
Stanford
Oklahoma

After that, if I'm watching, I generally don't care who wins, I just want to be entertained. Unless Nebraska or bailer is playing, at which point I'm a huge fan of whoever their opponent happens to be.

1) Air Force - like going to games there

2) Notre Dame - the tradition

3) Wisconsin - like the running game and really like Montee Ball

Penn State (before they became Ped State). Now, no one.

Sadly, Nik and I are brothers on this one. I am Italian American and my roots are on the East Coast. My extended family of Guido's worshipped Joe Paterno. I went to State College (drove from New York on a business trip) a few years ago and had my picture taken with JoePa's statue on campus and sent it to all my cousins. A few short months later, I was haunted by that pic.
My favorite team other than CU is whoever is playing Nebraska. Whoever is playing ND and USC.... etc. I guess I hate CSU less as I root for them most every week. But I hate them more than any opponent when we play them.

CU losing makes it hard to like anyone. Misery loves company. Loved UVA due to family and location (I graduated from high school as close to Scott Stadium as Boulder High is to Folsom). However the Welsh era is long gone and I now secretly like when they lose unless playing Virginia Tech.

Whoever is playing Nebraska.
Whoever is playing Texas.
Whoever is playing Baylor.
Whoever is playing Notre Dame
Whoever is playing Penn State.
Whoever is playing a P12 South division rival (when CU is a contender)

Then
The non-Florida team
The non-Eastern time zone team
The non-SEC team
The non-California team (except Cal)
The non-Texas team
The underdog

Nearly identical to my system for "other".

Don't beat me up to bad or ban me from the Forum. But, I grew up in tx, and my first taste of college football was UH (University of Houston) and aTm... went to many games at both schools (well the Astrodome) and Kyle Field. Lots of family members went to both schools.

1. uh
2. atm

Like I said, that is when I was really young.
