Let us get right to it.

The Good

The weather was nicer than predicted - early in the day the wind was a bear but died down around 1:30 (I will take the good where ever I can get it.) As far as football goes the I will give team credit for coming out and giving the old college try - trick plays, etc to get an early lead. After that not much.

The Bad

In spite of CUs early efforts, Oregon treating the Buffs like an annoying gnat that would soon be squashed and they were correct. The 3rd down conversions were horrible (the obvious) and that comes from not having the talent to match up. Play calling was uninspired after the trick play but I really think as in past years it is impossible to call an inspired play if not one will execute. I cannot give kudos to a defense that gave up 755 yards. The special teams have moved up to only the bad category from ugly - but there is no way we can keep going through the season giving the opponents a short field on kickoffs. The bright side is we don't score much anymore so we do not kick off as much.

The Ugly

Saturday night game with the number 2 team in the nation coming into town - we only have ~46,000 in the stands. How many will we have for Charleston Southern? This reflects the dire state of the CU football program. The stands were 60% empty at the end of the 3rd quarter. I have to be honest - I was bored in the 3rd quarter and left half way into the last quarter. I always considered myself part of the fanatical core never missing a down of CU football but I think I am losing that passion (correction I know I am losing it). When I did leave it was impossible to get out onto Broadway - I don't what was going on but taking 45 minutes to get out of the Parking lot is ridiculous especially in light of the most people already leaving- maybe there was an accident - I don't know.

Additional Reality

I don't want to hear that Connor Wood was this 4-star recruit anymore. He is now a starting QB in a BCS conference and he needs to start playing like it. It is obvious that he is not physically limited but he is unable to rise to the occasion. Oregon did not bring their A game yesterday but I think soon we are going to see more blitzing from defenses and if we don't burn them it will get worse.

For the bad, I would put at least it mizzou that took us to the woodshed. Those games always felt worse. I didn't know we gave up 755 yards. Holy crap.

The Good
individual players...Gillam, Henderson, Powell, CUD. Special teams are improving, as is the run game.

The Bad
Connor. OSU doesn't look like a fluke...he's got developing to do. PRich-2 dropped balls...really???

The Ugly
Pass D is ugly...Orms and Crawley...they're the best we got??
