Despite the sunny skies and pleasant temperature, the game was sparsely attended. Some students in the crowd explained that news of the makeup game spread slowly through campus and many of their friends simply didn't know about it. One girl donning Buffs gear pointed to the bare bleachers behind Charleston Southern and remarked to her friends: "Look at their stands! Now I don't feel so badly about ours."
