I have no idea who the best 2 teams are from among the BCS undefeateds of Alabama, Florida State, Oregon, Ohio State and Baylor.

I mean, they're all undefeated, so it's a judgment call. You can't say someone would lose until there's evidence that they can be beaten. So it really comes down to who scheduled like a champion and has performed the best against that schedule.

1. Florida State has destroyed every team it's played. Right now, they'd be my #1 because they have absolutely destroyed the ranked teams they have played this year. Strongest schedule, imo, of the undefeated BCS teams and they haven't really been challenged. Not a lot left on the schedule, though. This is based on where they are now. Finishing the year with Wake, Cuse, Idaho and a down Florida isn't going to do them any favors. They better hope that Miami wins out and gives them the rematch in the ACC Championship or their schedule is going to start looking like dog****.

2. Oregon is my #2. Again, destroying everyone. That includes a 21-point road win against a Top 25 Washington team that circles the Oregon game every year as its primary rival and a 28-point destruction of a ranked UCLA. Also, while UVA and Tennessee aren't very good this year, I do give a team props for scheduling 2 BCS opponents on top of the 9 conference games it was looking at. Stanford this week is the biggest one left. And they need either ASU or UCLA to go into the Pac-12 championship game at 10-2.

3. Alabama comes in here. I'm giving credit for scheduling VA Tech in a neutral opener and whipping them. They also blanked a good Ole Miss team. That 7-point win at aTm is a big victory, but it doesn't scream "#1 team in the country". One of my big beefs with them is that when you only play 8 conference games, miss Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Missouri from the East, don't schedule a road non-conference game, and then put CSU, Georgia State and Chattanooga on your schedule, I refuse to put you ahead of teams that tried to play a championship schedule.

4. Ohio State. Only because they beat the 2 ranked teams on their schedule already and at least tried to play a good team by scheduling a road game at Cal. They're on the outside looking in unless a couple of the above teams lose. But "trying" isn't "doing" and they really haven't played anyone. B1G isn't doing them any favors this year. Impressive, though, that they continued to roll teams with their backup QB in.

5. Clemson. One loss where they got crushed by my #1. Props for opening with a win over a pre-injury Georgia squad that was a Top 5 team at the time while also having South Carolina on the schedule to close the year. They get the nod as the top 1-loss squad for actually trying to play someone.

6. Stanford. At least they play Notre Dame in the non-conference on top of 9 conference games. The craptastic non-conference schedules among these other teams are unreal. But you can't lose to Utah.

7. Baylor. They've been putting up video game numbers. But, by far the best team they've played is 4-4 KSU and they only beat them by 10. Playing Wofford, Buffalo and LA-Monroe in the non-conference is a joke. We'll find out a lot about them the next few weeks when they finally hit the meat of their Big 12 schedule: Oklahoma, Texas Tech, @Oklahoma State, @TCU, Texas.

8. Auburn. Nothing special in the non-conference, which was highlighted by a 7-point home win against Washington State. But their only loss was by 14 points at LSU (no shame in that) and their best win was a 4-point victory at Texas A&M (best victory on the board among these 1-loss teams).

9. Michigan State. Way higher than the voters have them. But their only loss was by 4 points at Notre Dame. They've got a Top 10 defense and they run the ball very well. That defense dominated a Michigan offense today that was scoring at a Top 10 pace.

10. Oklahoma. Won by 2 TDs at Notre Dame. Compared to what others have scheduled in the non-conference, that's a juggernaut schedule. And they took care of a pretty good Texas Tech today. Getting destroyed by Texas almost made me move them out in favor of Miami, Oklahoma State or Missouri -- but have you seen those schedules? Tried to entertain undefeated Fresno State here, but they may not beat Nevada tonight and we're looking at a 1-point home OT win vs Rutgers, a 1-point home win vs Boise State, a 5-point win at Hawaii, and a 7-point road win at San Diego State. Ugh. Honestly, some 2-loss teams like aTm, UCLA, Arizona State and LSU are probably better than all of the 1-loss teams I considered for this 10 spot.

Alabama's schedule is currently rated higher than OU or FSU. I would suspect it will end the year after the SECCG much higher after finishing with LSU, the barn and most likely Mizzou.

FSU OOC Nevada, Bethune-Cookman, Idaho, UF
OU OOC Nicholls State, UVa, tuk

Championship Scheduling-no doubt

1. Alabama
2. FSU
3. Oregon
4. Ohio State
5. Stanford
6. Baylor
7. Missouri
8. Auburn
9. Miami
10. Wisconsin

I know Wisconsin is way higher then where most people have them. But they got absolutely jobbed against ASU, and took tOSU to the wire on the road. Bama's still the best until proven otherwise, although that win against A&M was clearly shaky.

If college football is a playoff then previous years shouldn't be a factor. Switch out any of the top 3 teams and I wouldn't bitch about it.

That Oregon schedule is 2 BCS teams - one on the road - on top of a 9-game conference schedule. Bama's 8-game conference schedule makes that VA Tech neutral like a conference game on the equivalency meter and means that it's nothing but dog**** for 3 home matchups.

FSU's schedule was frontloaded, which is the only reason I have them #1 right now. They've destroyed three Top 25 teams, 2 of which were undefeated and Top 10 when they played.

Florida State and Oregon are definately in a position to knock Alabama out of the BCS Title game, but I don't see any way Alabama isn't there if they win out.

Since they've won 3 of the last 4 titles, it would be damn hard to leave the program out of the game if it goes undefeated. But the lack of signature SEC wins in the non-conference and the fact that former Big 12 teams that were not at the top of that conference may be the #2 and #3 teams in the SEC this year makes me seriously question whether hanging your hat only on conference wins is enough for an SEC team this year.

But Nik 8 sec games are like 16 nfl games. I think you are vastly underestimating how difficult it is to run the table in the sec. It's not like a mediocre team from the big 12 would do well in it.

Oh wait....

SEC defenses flat out suck this year. It's kind of surprising how the voters don't recognize it.

SEC aint good this year. not impressed with bama's schedule.

I thought both aTm and MU were in for a rude awakening in the SEC and that train of thought has proven to be flat out wrong. SEC is vastly overrated.

If scheduling mediocre BCS teams is 'championship scheduling' OU does it right.

While FSU has 2 wins over highly ranked opponents sometimes its important to remember how awful people are at ranking. The only reason Miami was a top 10 team is because they were undefeated, but there are 3-4 Pac-12 teams that could easily beat that Miami squad. Clemson has an awesome reputation for not showing up to big games and who knows how good they really are. I believe if Oregon beats Stanford then it deserves the number 2 spot although I suppose I am biased. Alabama deserves to be number 1 until someone knocks them off in the NC game.

Those programs have the athletes to beat you if you don't show up. Georgia State and Chattanooga, though? And UO at least played a road game vs a BCS team. Eastern Time Zone for a Pacific Northwest team. SEC teams rarely put themselves to that kind of risk. When you do (e.g., Georgia traveling to Colorado), you don't do so well.

Mizzou keeps winning SEC games even with its backup QB. And Mizzou wasn't at the level of aTm in the Big 12. Just sayin'.

They went 2-6 last year and have beat some teams with injuries this year. In 5 years their SEC winning % will be about 400. I think Ole Miss is going to thump them.

If you want to stand behind your 'championship scheduling' comment about a road trip to UVA keep it up. I think it was ridiculous.

No one will argue that Oregon had a brutal non-conference schedule. But let's not act like they scheduled a bunch of nobodies either. When they scheduled those games years ago, I'm sure they figured UVA and Tenn would be bowl teams. One on the road. It's okay to give Oregon a little credit here.

Bama doesn't go on the road at all ooc. Bama also schedules patsies or has bye weeks before big games (see this week vs LSU). Sorry, but that is weak as ****.

I guess you are aware the SEC schedules all conference games. Go back a couple of years and look at off week before playing UA when Roy Kramer ran the show.

We played VaTech-better than any team on OU's OOC schedule.
