Redshirts

John Walker (Soph. CB from DC) is wearing #5 this year. I don't think they would've thrown Yuri in this late unless there were injuries.

Yuri Wright was listed on the participation report. (Irwin was not). If that happened I am really shaking my head.

I wonder if that participation report gets revised to not include Yuri, it wouldn't make sense that they would burn his shirt this late in the season. I saw a lot of Walker but not Wright and they don't look a lot alike in body types. It would be verifiable to the NCAA with coaches films to make the revisions on the report.

If they did actually do it, especially for only a few plays then it might also say a lot about what the staff thinks of Yuri. Maybe he isn't making the progress they had hoped and isn't in their future plans. Maybe there are other indications that he isn't going to be a part of the team in the future and burning the shirt doesn't matter to him since he would be sitting a year elsewhere anyways.

I hope this isn't the case but we are a program in transition.

That has to be a typo. Walker got some PT and is wearing #5 now. Yuri would have to have a new # to see the field.

MacIntyre isn't Embree dumb. Meaning burning Austin Vincent's rs for literally 2 plays

They can modify what they report to the NCAA. It is the CU participation report so you would think they would know their own players.

Using this statement at any time in relation to the CU athletic department is a dangerous assumption.

Is he coming back?

No. My personal assessment is that he actually didn't show too well when he was practicing. HCMM had the option to put him on scholarship this summer, and have him sit out 2013 and be available for 2 years. He did not.

Before this article was published I asked Adam while at a basketball game to check his eligibility because I doubted he could do what he was trying to do. At that time, I had been told he had transferred back from Sam Houston State (an NCAA school). If he attended there full time (whether or NOT he played or practices even one time with the football team), he would be ineligible for one year.

What this says is that Austin Vincent essentially went out on his own and tried to stay eligible by taking classes but had no clue and thus no contact with AD folks before he transferred back to Colorado. He also wasted another full year of eligibility and he wasted a full semester of out of state tuition. Essentially, an awful waste of time and money.

It sounds to me that Embree's admin was not counseling Vincent in any manner after he left CU. If they were, he could have avoided all of this by going to a Juco. I don't blame Embree for this as they probably just decided to wash their hands of this situation and I can't blame them for that choice, since I don't know the full story.

It is really sad to me that this kid did what he thought was right to get back to CU where he wanted to clear his name and in the end, he was left to flounder. HCMM tried to help him but then the facts came out regarding the previous colleges he attended during his time away from CU...

I hope he caught on somewhere this fall and is sitting out with 2 to play 2, or perhaps at a Juco playing his way into a scholarship somewhere.
