#1 Michigan State in a battle with Portland, leading 46-45 in the second half. They previously struggled with Columbia.

Wish the NCAA would put a ban on playing non-DI teams. It seems to be getting worse and worse. Now every night there's a multitude of teams playing Huston-Tillotson or Metropol or Stillman or Dillard or Toccoa Falls or McMurry or Southwest Minnesota State or William Carey or Manchester or Eckerd (those are all just from Monday night's slate of games). There's 350 DI teams now, there's no need for anyone to be playing Toccoa Falls. If you want to keep Chaminade or any other team hosting a tournament, that's fine. But this seems to be getting ridiculous.

There were some RPI articles last year about this and coaches responded appropriately. The findings were that a game against a D2 team not counting toward your RPI as a tune-up glorified scrimmage was better for your RPI than beating a sub-200 D1 team on your home court.

Metro lost to Rhode Island by 3, would've been great to see them win and face Arizona

I do recall that now. I can't blame coaches for going for the loophole, but it's one I'd like to see closed. It has gotten out of hand and will only get worse.

Brooks Thompson is kicking himself for reading that article.

UNC thinking about building a new arena. The Dean Dome leaves a little to be desired at times (the sheer size of it leads to the atmosphere just not quite being what it was back in the Carmichael Auditorium days). That said, it's a quality arena. I think they should just renovate. The main thing is the Dean Dome is a product of the 80's before the luxury suite madness hit. UNC wants to cash in on that.

Duke closed to win by 9.

Vandy took Butler to OT in a bit of a surprise, but Butler turned it on to win by 8.

Marcus Smart like the spotlight a little bit? Damn, guys. 24 points in the 1st half against Memphis... and there are still over 8 minutes before the buzzer.

:jawdrop:

NC State is in real trouble now.

Down 53-48 with 5:25 to play. On Root locally.

(I'm not sure I knew there was a NC Central.)

Furk OT, fts will kill you. They missed 2 in the last minute.

I thought that it was NC State all the way once they had forced OT.

Big credit to NCC. They've played great in the extra period on the road.

And I'm growing even more skeptical of the ACC.

Bottom half of the ACC is quite bad. NC State is undoubtedly in that bottom half, not expected to do anything this year.
