Holy **** Cal Got mud-holed.

Hope are Flukes does die of alcohol poisoning tonight trying to drown his sorrows.

It's hard to pull off a more miserable season than CU 2012. Cal has managed this impressive feat: 1-11 (0-9) with the lone victory by a touchdown over the 9th place team in the Big Sky.

Except they had a true freshman QB who came just short of setting an NCAA passing record for frosh and return pretty much their entire 2-deep. So with that abortion of a season comes confidence that the next season will be better. We didn't have that.

I'm not so sure about that. Cal at least moved the ball all year and was in a handful of games. They didn't have a Fresno State prison rape game (or several like we did).

2016. I guess Cal learned when when truly smart people put their mind to it, beatings will ensue.

WTF???

I didn't drink this weekend and predicted the big game outcome 3 weeks ago. Thanks for your concerns. Good luck ending your season against your rival-Utah.

Glad our season is over

Cal didn't have a string of Sun Belt level recruiting classes leading up to this season. Despite looking like a team that would rather not be on the field or didn't belong on the field a number of times there is still a decent core of talent there. Get them motivated and add in a few good players and they can be right back out of the basement.

The bad news for them is that they are a program with some financial issues and a coach who looks to be a terrible hire with a big contract. At the same time they have similar to Boulder a vocal group of faculty and other hangers on who resent football and are actively working against the program.

Cal is not far away from returning to respectablility but they need some people to step forward and make sure that those who would gladly gut the program don't get their way. If not they could easily end up in a hole as deep or deeper than last years CU program was, and is still trying to recover from.

In my book, a winless conference season with no victories over FBS opponents is worse than a season with 1 conference victory. Cal 2013 would probably have defeated CU 2012 more often than not. However, history will deem them worse.

you clearly don't read Bearinsider, confidence is something they do not have in Dykes.

it would help to have at least a couple conference teams go into the tank while we attempt to rebuild, especially given that our rebuild looks to be slow and painful. cal plus ?

Utah's in some danger. Having to medically retire 2 straight QBs while in the process of stepping up in competition is not a good recipe. I think Oregon State maintains what they've been until Riley decides to hang it up.

It is better to get mudholed every now and then by stanfurd than to have to play a 'rivalry' game versus CSU every year, where the options are worthless win or embarrassing loss.

If CSU wins this weekend, we'll have a win over a bowl team. Not worthless.

Are you saying CSU sucks? Cause they do. Bet they would beat the bears tho.
