What's the deal with Donta Abron anyway?

The guy looked pretty explosive in 2012 and he was buried on the depth chart this season behind Powell, Adkins and ToJo. Is he going to be a weapon for CU? Possible move to WR in his future?

The long A at the end of his given name confuses the coaches.

Didn't look explosive to me, but he did look like he had potential as a RB. He gives you pretty much what Tony Jones gives you in terms of size and quicks.

I don't see him getting time as a receiver, so I'd expect that in order for him to play, he'd have to get bigger/stronger and perfect the art of pass protection. Adkins and Powell are a pretty good duo for us right now.

Abron, Crowder, Creer. Wouldn't surprise if we saw some attrition there.

To add to what Holic said, don't be surprised if Dotson pushes for early playing time next season. Might end up being the fastest RB on the roster. The numbers are not sustainable.

Abron has the tools to be a good RB here. Hopefully he'll show the dedication in the offseason to earn the respect & trust of his teammates and coaches.

If Josh Ford hadn't been injured, we could have redshirted Abron last year. Kind of a wasted season for Donta, I think Creer could have just as easily gotten those limited touches.

Thought Crowder was gone.

Another player I had hoped would get a chance to return kicks as long as the redshirt wasn't in play.

Pass pro is suspect..but a decent RB. If and when he rounds out his pass pro, I expect he'll see the field more.
