One of those things will be a crowded, hostile house. At 9-1 with its lone loss to rival Kentucky (69-64), Louisville is averaging 7,622 and has drawn crowds of 8,099 for LSU and 10,045 for Florida State. Lappe expects more than 10,000 on Saturday to show up and shower the Buffs with holiday warmth – or something to that effect.

“It’s going to be a good environment. They’ll have a lot of fans . . . it’s going to be loud, it’s going to be fun,” she said.

Whatever else it’s going to be, well, that’s up to the Buffs.

I look forward to seeing crowds in the Keg like that for our big WBB games some day.

THE GAME:

No. 11 (AP)/14 (USAT) University of Colorado will travel to take on No. 7 (AP & USAT) University of Louisville on Saturday, Dec. 21, at 11 a.m. MST at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Ky.

BROADCAST:
Saturday’s game will air live on KKZN AM 760. Mike Rice will handle play-by-play duties and will be joined by Carol Callan of USA Basketball with the color commentary. If anyone has a link to watch the game - PLEASE POST IT.

OPENING TIP:
Colorado has 14 all-time wins against Top 10 opponents, the only true road win among that group was a 73-71 triumph at No. 9/9 Arkansas on Nov. 21, 1995 to win the Preseason WNIT. The Buffaloes were ranked No. 11 in both polls for that game.

ABOUT THE BUFFALOES:

Colorado improved to 9-0 by defeating instate rival University of Denver, 83-61, on Dec. 12. The win allowed the Buffaloes to extend their fifth best start to a season in team history and overall was their 3rd straight nonconference regular season victory.

ABOUT THE CARDINALS:
No. 7 Louisville is 11-1 overall and has won its last four. The Cardinals’ lone loss of the season came on the road, a 69-64 decision at then-No. 7 ranked Kentucky where Louisville was ranked No. 3 by the coaches at the time and No. 4 by the AP. Since that setback, all the Cardinals have done is average a blistering 100.8 points in four wins. Overall Louisville is averaging 90.5 points per game on 51 percent shooting. The Cardinals also haul down 48.2 rebounds per game and enjoy a plus-13.1 rebound margin over their opponents.

10-8 Buffs early. Listing on AM 760. Sounds like we're playing well and Kresl is setting the tone with 7 quick points.

Buffs are getting handled inside.

Gonna be hard to win a game like this with jump shots.

14-19

Little over 5 minutes left in the half. Buffs down 2 with the ball.

Yes CU hanging tough, playing tough.

Big shot by Huggins! Important to open up middle, which Louisville seems to be controlling.

Now 29-24 Buffs!

Louisville pressure sounds like it's getting to the Buffs a bit. Crowd is very loud for a women's game.

9-0 run by 'Ville has us down 29-33 with 55 seconds.

Down 4 at half not bad. Kresl cannot continue to carry us alone. Need shots to start falling from Roberson and Wilson.

B-Wil got into some early foul trouble. Also sounds like CU made the Cardinals go a bit deeper into their bench than they like. Need to get some early 2nd half fouls on their frontcourt.

Get the ball to the rim.

Get the ball to the rim.

We have 3 of their starters with 2 fouls. If buffs can continue to push it in the paint, we may just get the calls we need to hurt the Cardinals.
