Big game for the women tonight as they are in LA to open their conference campaign v USC. It's a must win if they are to seriously challenge for the Pac-12 title.

Game is on Pac-12 networks (9 pm MT).

B-Wil with the 3!

First CU lead of the game, 29-28, with 16 1/2 to play.

34-30 with about 12 to go.

Announcer was so annoying earlier. Started a comment about CU with how the Buffs were in the Big 12 last year. Corrected herself to say 2 years ago. ****ing clueless. Then went on to talk about how Boulder is really hard to get to with travel as if Denver isn't one of the nation's biggest airport hubs and Boulder's in the middle of nowhere or something.

I swear, it's going to take a decade before some of these folks can start thinking beyond Pac-10. Really gets annoying with the PACN's on-air talent. They always seem to forget about CU. On the men's side, I've heard color guys talk about possible tournament teams and go 6 or 7 deep before the play-by-play guy has had to chime in with a reminder that CU's in the Top 25 in the nation.

except for bill walton. <3 him.

41-40.

"Roberson now 2/9 from the field. She was 1 of 8 before she made that last one."

Buffs are gonna lose.

45-50 with 35.5 and USC going to the line.

Couldn't get a stop and couldn't make a shot the last 4 minutes.

Missed FT and CU can't control it. Out of bounds to USC.

Deserved to lose tonight. Pathetic performance all around.

how tough is it to win on the road in in-conference play in wbb?

Last year, I think CU only lost to the ranked teams. This was incredibly awful. USC even had 2 starters out tonight.

Nothing to it but to put this joke of an effort behind them and beat UCLA.

45-55 Final

How concerned are you? Think it was just a bad game, or they not as good as expected?

I'm concerned. Came out flat and had no idea how to finish. There are huge issues with the interior defense, too.

Disappointing performance. The Buffs did a great job digging themselves out of a hole, but folded big time in the last 5 minutes.

Too bad the Wilson twins couldn't pull out a win in front of their mom.

Ugh, terrible game. The announcers too. Between saying CU played in the MWC before moving to the PAC and calling AWil 'Ashley Robinson' over and over. Roberson got dominated in the post, team shot sub 30%, out rebounded, etc.

I don't even know where to begin. For me it was a totally unexpected debacle. The Buffs offense was missing the first 7 or so minutes of the game and their composure was MIA the last 4. USC did play good defense, but 45 points by the Buffs? Really?

Interesting that there was talk of CU pushing Stanford for the conference over the last week.

Yes, it was a bad loss. Unlike men's basketball playing away doesn't mean facing a large hostile crowd, thus the homecourt advantage isn't as strong. There were 372 total in attendance at the Galen center. So losing on the road to a team that has lost to the likes of Cal-State Northridge is a very bad loss.

We've seen other games this season where the Buffs couldn't extend a lead and thus the opposition was in it right to the end (CSU, Wyo, Iowa) but the Buffs figured out how to pull out the win. Last night CU looked like they would have two or three seasons ago when the they wilted in the face of the challenge.

Let's put the beginning of the conference schedule in context, CU is at UCLA on Sunday night and then returns home to face Cal and Standford next weekend. If the Buffs don't get it together now they could be looking at an 0-4 start in Pac-12 play.

Depends on how they do tonight. If they lose tonight. out of top 25.

Team did not come to play. It was like they have forgotten there is no Chucky on this time that can bail them out. It takes a team to win the games now and the team did not come to play. Ashley and Brittany did everything they could to win the game, but two players can't win a game.

Shooting percentage from both the field and line were terrible. If this continues, they drop, drop, drop.

The announcers were driving me crazy. Along with the above mentioned transgressions, Ann Drysdale did not pronounce Sborov right. How to pronounce her last name is in the media guide provided to commentators. Use it or stop announcing.

I wish the Pac 12 would use Ceal for home games when she is available and Brenda Van Langen, an excellent women's announcer, has said she would go to Boulder. She's more Midwest based, so has no desire to go to the West Coast. Told me the Pac 12 has never contacted her.

I have been surprised to turn on games on CBS Sports and Ceal is handling the color commentary. Makes me think the Pac 12 doesn't want to use her. Their announcers care nothing about CU women's basketball or volleyball.
