How did we do compared to previous years?

What are we doing well?

Where are we screwing the pooch?

What ideas do you have to make things better for the 2015 cycle?

Who wants to volunteer for something?

******************************************

My quick thoughts:

1. I was less active this year as my work changed. That resulted in some gaps in the minutiae that I previously did a better job of managing: 1) updating profiles as new ratings came out; and, 2) ensuring that every profile is in the Index & that the Index agrees with the Profiles. We need to do better for 2015. I need to step up a bit as do the other mods. We might need a volunteer to take on Mod privileges for this, too.

2. We dropped the recruiting Chats. A lot of that was driven in 2013 by our relationship with Reed & Buff Radio, which has not been continued. However, a weekly football chat with recruiting news and (during the season) roster/game discussion might be a good thing to re-introduce.

3. AB membership did a great job of stepping up this year by creating profiles and watching twitter & reported CU offers to bring the info to the board and also create profiles. This has been fantastic. And it's fulfillment of the vision of AllBuffs being "for the fans, by the fans". This board is not driven by original content or moderator/admin leadership. AllBuffs is what the members make of it (to an extent - some of you suck ).

4. Signing Day coverage showed the burnout of the mod team, I think. In previous years, we had tracked every in-state prospect and whether they went to Pueblo, Mines, et al, had special profiles for each CU signee, and generally did a more thorough job. In the past, all mods and admins pitched in for this and we had members volunteer for some special threads. We dropped the ball on this one.

I said B, although I really don't have any complaints. Personally, I don't care if some kid from Pueblo South went to Mesa State, so that didn't bother me. The only thing I missed were the recruiting chats those last couple of weeks, but also realize there wasn't much to talk about this year either. Other than Ballage, which was well-covered already, and the Sully surprise, this class was pretty much wrapped up.

My only suggestion would be to clean up some of the stars/offers discussions from individual profiles. Some of them became a mess of debate and “I told you so" posts and it probably doesn't help when mods are actively involved in those discussions in a recruit's thread.

Anyway, good job overall by the Junta and I appreciate the hard work from all!

A - mainly because it seems from the outside like a full-time job and I don't know how you guys do all that you do, you guys are awesome.

One idea; I'd love to see profile threads on our assistant coaches to track who they are targeting by class, what region they cover, who they're landing, etc. We talk a lot about who's pulling their weight, who's establishing relationships in each region and I know I'd love to be more informed about that. Plus it would be great to see how we're setting up future classes (maybe seeing certain high schools emerge as priorities, etc.).

I have no idea if that info is readily available enough to be effective, but could be cool.

Great job guys!

Allbuffs is not a "for profit" site. The guys who put up the profiles aren't paid other than imaginary hookers and blow and probably not nearly enough rep. For those of us who only follow recruiting as it relates to CU, the info on Allbuffs is awesome and really appreciated. A+ for me.

I agree it would be nice to see the profile of coaches and list the recruits they are working to lure to CU.

I give you guys a huge A as the coverage in general on this site is Allsome! The dedication of the mods and the board in general to quality info, fun and just the right amount of moderating is what keeps me coming back here. It is the best fan site on the web for a Buff Fan!

Thanks to all Mods and participants. Very informative! Good stuff overall. A

The only reason I voted "B" instead of "A" is because I've seen "A" work the past few years and know what you guys are capable of. Great work and thanks to all those who put in the time.

A

I thought you guys did great. Like others said, I really couldn't care less about where all Colorado prospects sign. The round table discussion thing you guys had a year or two ago was pretty cool, though. Might be worth doing that again in the future.

Thanks to everyone that puts time into this forum, but special kudos to cmgoods for putting in some serious work this year.

A

Would have been a much lower grade without the cynicism of Duffman.

+1

Loved the info this year but have definitely seen what the ceiling is from past years and am now spoiled because the group here has set the bar so high with their efforts. I am not active on any other boards but I imagine we do a hell of a job and eclipse our peer fan institutions.

Fantastic work. No complaints. Thank you all for the effort.

I used to make frequent visits to Rivals, Scout, espin, etc, to check out recruits, offers, visit dates, what have you. I find just about everything I need right here on AB.

That should tell you how well this forum is being run.

Nuff said.

I give an A. I did miss the evening chat sessions, as was previously mentioned.

In addition to Buffnik, I think there was great work done in starting profiles by cmgoods, Duff, 'Tini, Goose (I know I'm missing a few others). NotKyleRingo has been good lately too.

i enjoyed the discussion from Slider, Mtn, White Rabbit, buffalolic, blackandgold, sinkratz, snow, duff, 'Tini, cville, buffnik, and many others. Even better that there was a good bit of healthy disagreement between everyone.

i like that the guys from Rivals stop by now and then. I bought a rivals membership this past year and will renew again this year.

The $15 bucks for an Allbuffs club membership continues to be a bargain.

One thing that maybe doesn't get enough attention and credit from the board is the ton of work Duff puts in every year to set the table for the next year in our Futures forum while everyone else is keyed in on the final 2 months of the current recruiting cycle.

This year, like every year, when we make the flip and the new year becomes the main forum it is astounding how many profiles have already been created.

Hopefully next year we'll be in on a few more guys late to build excitement. I'd also like to see us get back to doing a good job on the rest of the Pac12 and instate kids.

I said B only because I would like to think there is always room for improvement. I think AB gives the best info around, and I applaud the effort. Great job IMO.

A. This remains the go to place to find info about CU recruiting. If it's not here, it's linked. Keep bringing the cmgoods!

A - Even if there was a slight lack of enthusiasm this year, I feel no need and little desire to go to other sites for the information you guys (The Junta and the common folk) provide here. Thanks for all your hard work. Beer and sammiches all around!

A. Allbuffs is a go to source. I would predict that the energy that is reprted missing this last cycle will return and then some as we begin to get in on some higher rated/higher publicized recruits.

I applaud the mods for generating as much info and coverage as you do given the relative unexciting state of CU recruiting.

A suggestion would be to include a twitter tag of some sort for each recruit to follow their comments as they go thru the recruiting process.

A. Great value for cheap fellows like myself who traded a Rivals sub for a gold ring.

As mentioned, having the coaching leads mentioned on the recruit threads would be great. Bringing back the chats would be nice too.

I've been debating that one. What's held me back is that I'm having trouble seeing what we gain by that. Explain the benefit to AB members and I will consider it.

The site is great. I voted "B" (due to lack of chatroom usage) but regret it already. If the chatroom ever gets popular enough, perhaps around signing day there could be two chatrooms, one titled "Kool-Aid" and the other titled "JRK/fatbuff."
