Today RG is presenting to the regents the department's strategic plan prepared by Prof. Jeff Luftig, Assc. Vice Chancellor and Director, Office for Performance Improvement. I have had the pleasure to have Prof. Luftig for his Business Process Improvement class and am in his Ethics class. He knows his ****.

Here is RG's first presentation: http://www.boarddocs.com/co/cu/Boar...C/$file/CUAthletics_Regents_IACagenda_219.pdf
It has some sweet renderings of the new facilities inside (lockers, offices, training, rehab) and inside of the IPF as well as budget for this year and projected actuals.

The strategic plan isn't posted yet. I will try to update if it gets posted, but more likely RG will send out an email detailing what is in it after the meeting.

Just posted: http://www.boarddocs.com/co/cu/Boar...7A/$file/03 strategicplan_regents_2014-17.pdf

Allbuffs is apparently on its game today. Great stuff Aero. Rep!

anyone else notice that the new locker room is gonna have some bad ass lens flare?

Thanks for the presentation.

The facility renderings are nice.

I'm surprised by one line item. They show revenue for soccer ticket sales. Every soccer game I've gone to has been free. The budget shows about $4K, so not a large amount, but I'm curious. Does anyone know where that revenue comes from?

First of all, the locker room is gorgeous. Perfectly represents CU football. Second I am liking the IPF/weight rooom layout. Allows for easy movement between areas, and coaches to watch multiple things at once if a group is training while another is lifting. The IPF also appears to show an exterior garage door that I would imagine going out on to Franklin. Would allow for some interior tailgating type deal similar to what Oregon does.

I had Luftig for Ethics as well, great class. And yeah he's a very sharp guy. He founded and ran a consulting firm that was apparently a pretty big deal until he sold it and came to CU.

Soccer and other sports generate ticket revenue largely through season ticket holders for football and basketball who want to up their priority points with a season ticket to one or more non-revenue sports.

I love the meeting room for HCMM to entertain recruits. Having a beautiful space that overlooks Folsom Field is a big plus.

From the strategic plan (emphasis added by me):

STRATEGIC INTENT 2:
Significantly Improve the Overall Competitiveness of CU Athletics Department at the University of Colorado Boulder

Strategic Objective 2.1: Win a Minimum of 2 Championships in Targeted Sports Between 2014 and 2017
Focal Point 2.1.1: Compete in at Least 1 Pac-12 Championship Game in Football by 2016 {MM}

Tactical Objective 2.1: Win a Minimum of 12 Championships in Selected Sports Between 2014 and 2017
Check Point 2.1.1: Compete in at Least 1 Regular Season Pac-12 Championship in Men’s Basketball by 2017 {TB}

Strategic Objective 2.2: S
ignificantly Improve the Overall Competitiveness for Targeted Sports Teams Between 2014 and 2017
Focal Point 2.2.2: Make At Least One (1) Appearance in the NCAA Sweet 16 In Women’s Basketball Between 2015 and 2017, Inclusive {LL}

Tactical Objective 2.2:
Maintain or Incrementally Improve the Competitiveness of All Sports Teams between 2014 and 2017
Check Point 2.2.1: Receive a Bowl Bid in Football 2014 and 2015 {MM}
Check Point 2.2.13: Appear in the 4th Round of the NCAA National Tournament In Women’s Soccer At Least Once, Appearing in Round 3 or Higher in the Other 2 Years, Between 2014 and 2016, Inclusive {DS}
Check Point 2.2.18: Finish in the Top Half of the Season-Ending Men’s Outdoor Track Pac-12 Championship Each Year Between 2015 and 2017, Inclusive {MW}

Yep definitely shooting for the stars. The renderings look great. That locker room is amazing and the coaches space is nice

well, 2016 isn't that far off. MM better get ****ing going. Also, how hard is it going to be for Tad boyle to just "Compete in one regular season pac-12 championship" by 2017?? Isn't he doing that right now?

Also:

"Check Point 2.2.1: Receive a Bowl Bid in Football 2014 and 2015 {MM}"

yeaa, HCMM has his work cut out for him this year.

It would seem Rick George does not want to wait around 4-5 years for recruiting to improve.

Ya weird. Maybe he meant tournament championship?

BJ Beatty makes a few appearances.

Very sharp presentation, too bad it's in the Springs or I could have dropped in.

Interesting detail in the IPF and the shot through the weight room, the endzones are blacked out. Coaches tend to like their practice field exactly like their home field. Wonder if it sticks.

Boulder has a nice, unique style to the campus that gives us the opportunity to do some unique design work compared to our competitors. I'm excited.

Those look great, love the locker room, looks like Minnesota's. All the other stuff is really nice as well.

Prentup Pass costs $$. I think they were 50 or 100, for regular or "gold"

CU Strategic Plan
