The Buffs women's lacrosse team (1-2) will be hosting their first ever home match tomorrow at 12pm when they face off against Regis University (0-0) at Folsom Field. First draw is at noon, but get there early to see Ralphie run and be one of the first 500 fans in attendance to receive a free commemorative lacrosse ball. Free parking is available in lots 169, 396 and 494.

SCOUTING THE REGIS RANGERS: For the second time in as many games, CU’s match-up with a team will be the opponent’s season opener. The Buffs play host to the Rangers, who finished last season with a 10-5 overall, 8-2 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference record, including a 4-3 away mark. In 2013, Regis ranked in the Division II top 10 in draw controls per game (a DII-leading 17.67), scoring offense, goals per game (a 16.4 gpg average) and caused turnovers. The Rangers return nine starters and 15 letterwinners from last year’s squad, while welcoming five newcomers. Regis’ three non-returning starters (all Western Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association honorable mentions) combined for 55 goals last season, but the Rangers return four first-team All-WILA members who racked up 144 points in 2013.

Another goal by Regis cuts the Buffs lead to 3-2 with about 10 minutes left in the half

And Johnna Fusco just scored to put the Buffs back up by two, 4-2

Johnna Fusco with her 2nd goal makes it 5-2, then Regis adds one 5-3 with about 5 mins left

I went down for the first half. Fun atmosphere with a good crowd (maybe 2000?). Student athletes were out in full force. MM was there with the team. Ralphie ran.

I missed a few goals but,
Regis scored to make it 7-5
Lautman's second 8-5
Fusco hat trick 9-5
Carroll scores for 10-5
about 20 mins left

Tori Link adds her 1st for a 13-6 Buffs lead followed by 2 Regis goals to make it 13-8 with 3 mins left

:gobuffs:

The Buffs improve their record to 2-2. Their next match is Tuesday, March 4th when they host Temple at 3pm.

2-2 is a very nice start for a new program. Especially when the 2 losses were to very good teams.
