ESPN Gameday affect on FB Recruiting this Weekend + Beyond

We are getting some love on ESPN right now and obviously a national spotlight all day. We have one of the best unofficial visitor groups for the 2015 class we may have ever had on campus for this game. It is going to be sold out, blacked out and totally rocking tonight.

Win or lose (hoping for a win of course) assuming we keep it close so it stays rocking the whole time, the CEC is going to be electric. I can't imagine it won't help HCMM&Co especially with the guys in town this weekend. I wouldn't be surprised if we get a verbal after this weekend in part b/c of the atmosphere at the game.

I bumped into what had to be a recruit in the Colorado Bookstore this afternoon; appeared to be with his father. Tall. At least 6'8 I would guess.

I walked by LaRussa and a couple of (what I assumed to be) football recruits as I was leaving the Keg. They seemed to be enjoying it.

According to the Rivals list there is none that tall but there are a few guys not far away from that.

Doesn't mean that Tad doesn't have an unofficial visitor on campus today. De'Ron Davis could easily be mistaken for a football player, for example.

FYI, Ryan from Rivals posted this pic in Twitter of the recruits. Maybe for those of you w/o a Rivals subscription you could do some sleuthing to figure out a few. Might be tricky though :)

Conway and Lynott here for sure led by Coach Walters. I don't see anyone else
That's a damn good start. Love to get both of those guys. But I assume Adam's info is legit which means those other guys must be there somewhere although maybe they are not by the bench?

I have a small penis.

I'm short.

I'd go 6'7" on this kid, but I don't think he was any shorter than that.
Actually, I was implying you looked up at guys while you were blowing them. You're short too?

That list is definitely legit, but not all stayed for the BB game.

From phone
You kidding me? They didn't stay for the BB game? That sucks! Even though we are sucking it up, we are still in it and so is the crowd.

Not only good for unofficials, but good for guys in California etc. Jamie Nunley is tweeting up a storm watching the game. "Colorado fans are legit!" he wrote earlier.

How long have we been trying that pitch?
True but then we didn't have coaches on staff who had led a turnaround and we didn't have so much commitment from CU to make this happen. I think RG and facilities pitch helps make it seem more realistic. Also we went from 1 win to 4 in the 1st year of our new coach which suggests the possibility for an upward trend.

Facilities should give a big boost to this class. For the kids on unofficials this last week, it's an opportunity for them to see the progression- see the plans during an unofficial, be present for the groundbreaking ceremony at the spring game, then see how far construction has progressed during an official this fall, before they get to break in at least some of the brand new facilities when they step foot on campus for the first time next summer. That has to provide some excitement for the kids watching it all come together from the beginning.

This class may still not be what we all want, but I think it will be better than the last one, and 16 will be better than 15. Seems to be the plan. Grow the talent, build quality depth. Find a few stars. Win more.
