Unreal that Tad is not recognized as coach of the year with what this team accomplished with out Mayor and the other injuries the Buffs sustained.

I'm fine with it. They won one game post-Ski that they weren't projected to win and won every game they were supposed. Basically, they were a good home team and bad road team. They could've done worse don't get me wrong.

Larry K probably deserved a lot of consideration. Honestly, I got no problem with Miller getting it.

Honestly I would have given it to Krystowiak that Utah team was WAY better than anyone expected.

A little surprised that Hopkins didn't get an honorable mention all-frosh selection. Up and down play I guess did him in.

Went back and looked and they only had 5 on first team and 3 on honorable mention. Guess they didn't go any deeper than looking at some statistical leaders....

There's a bunch of different ways to award COY. 1) The easiest one is the best team -- which was done in this case.
2)Team that overcame the most adversity -- Tad would've been a good choice for that
3)Exceeding preseason prediction the most -- Krystowiak /Sendek

Also, Zona dealt with a major injury as well.

Yeah that's a fair point. Truth be told, injuries are just a part of sports. It just sucks more when it's your best player in the most hyped year in the history of your program. I've always been of the belief you can't use injuries as an excuse.

Good for Scott. He is easily the best big man in the conference, and he deserves all the accolades.

Not surprised by any of the picks. Zona also dealt with a injury but it is a much easier to replace a guy with another four star. Unfortunately, we don't have that luxury with a guy like Dinwiddie. I think Boyle might have won the award if we would have beaten Cal and finished in 3rd.

Only thing I don't like is that the first team has 10 guys. Way to many. Short just shorten to five.

I didn't either, I saw the ACC had a third team. Just do it that way IMO or just have two teams.

Very fair point. Just meeting expectations of the preseason with the injuries that happened to the Buffs is damn inpressive. Not saying the others did not also deserve it, but I do believe that Tad got a lot out of the roster he had many nights.

Giving it to a Sean Miller is one thing if they go like 17-1 in conference play. Did anyone not think Arizona would go 15-3? How many had Utah not having a losing record in Pac play?

Actually, I think Boyle would deserve it if they would have beaten Cal on the road. Finishing top 3 with the injury to your best player would be worthy IMO.

As for Utah, I think the biggest reason for their success is Delon Wright easily. Without him, there is no way they sniff 8 conference wins, probably 5-6. He makes their entire offense open up because he is so good at finishing at the rim.

I hope he enters the draft. If he comes back next year, look for Utah to finish in the top 6.

He reminds me of Burks in a lot of ways except Burks was a much better shooter.
