Two-year starter at El Camino CC said he was in Boulder this week and just landed in L.A. after a visit with the Buffs. Listed with 23 total tackles and 1.5 sacks in 10 games on El Camino's website. He said CU would let him know, he's looking to join a team for the fall. Three years to play two.

By his year it wouldn't be advantageous for class balance as we'll need a DT for depth now versus redshirting him, but I'd take it in a heartbeat if it means we have more flexibility with where we can put Ty Henington. Also gives us the other side of the Norgard coin, for those opponents where we'll need a bigger guy in the middle.

There's also the chance that Solis and/or Kofavalu not returning

Another one of my concerns. I am hoping this is a different era of CU football. I am too used to expecting the worst with potential academic casualties.

Sadly with Hennington and the academic issues with Solis/Kofavalu, I can see the immediate need for a DT. You can never have enough quality DT's.

Scout had an article that said he could have left his JC as a freshman, so academics might not be an issue

Syko agrees. If he occupies blockers to allow for us to get a pass rush, sign him up. Was listed at about 260 his senior year, so if the reported weight now is accurate that's a hell of a good increase. Turn him over to Dave Forman and we've got something here.

Ideally, this would allow one DT to redshirt and provide the first step towards some class balance.

Agreed, obviously attrition and injuries probably won't allow it. I do like the idea of 2 DT's every class, with one being the traditional DT and the other being a tweener DE/DT. Kofavalu and Solis really need to get it together for us to have a chance in the next few years. We have to stop this attrition at some point (especially the more talented players).
