Not really. He's definitely someone that can hit outside shots, but he seems to be the typical Tad recruit. Definitely not an outside shooting specialist, if that is what you were hoping for

Rebounds well. Handles the ball well. Can get to the rim. Good overall athlete. Above average passer and defender.

I was hoping for someone who at least could be counted on to make some outside shots rather than forever hold the promise of someday being able to develop that shot in a game situation. The Mo Valley is a sound basketball conference, so I do like to see those offers given where this recruit is from.

He was a 32% shooter from outside his Junior year, so it's certainly something he has the capacity to do. He could probably get better. But CU recruited a 47% outside shooter in Dustin Thomas, and that did not translate as a freshman.

Would like to see him raise his release point on his shot a little but otherwise looks like a fine player that I would be happy to see in the B & G

impressive body control while in the air, good shooter, slow first step, smart player. (caveat: from highlights)

That's a hell of a visit list.

Amazing how much things can change in 4 years.

Now, not only do I not bat an eye at CU being in that company but I feel like we're not looking up at any but Kansas.

Edit: And regarding Kansas, we beat their asses last year.

When you see Tad & Wichita State both after a guy early, you know he's going to blow up eventually.

I really like how under control he is, yet still plays with a sense of urgency. Definitely needs to add muscle to his frame.

"[Colorado head] coach [Tad] Boyle made it clear he is recruiting me as a point guard. They like my versatility and size as a bigger guard. It was kind of cool because they drew comparisons to Spencer Dinwiddie, so that was obviously high praise and felt good."

Right now, my guess is KSU lean, but not by much. Still waiting for more offers too. Hat tip to RK for the following:

The Buffaloes will clearly try to convince Shamet to make a return trip to Boulder.

"Obviously the campus at Colorado is just absolutely gorgeous. I don't know if I'll see a prettier campus and better atmosphere," he said. "I like the situation I would be stepping into potentially if I went there, a lot of pluses. I like the coaching staff a lot, too."

solidly in the mix, but he's not sold on any place yet.

Shamet has been picking up offers this summer, most recently from Minnesota and Illinois.

247sports recently rated him (finally) and put him just short of a 4* and their #124 prospect for this cycle. Interestingly, their hoops guy went with CU for his "crystal ball", which he put in after the new offers were in.

Need to get Shamet on campus for an OV and to get him committed.

Shamet is the target. We are still in it. Going by position, looks like we are #2. That's a wild guess/mild joke.

He's gonna visit Boulder in the fall compared to Kansas and Illinois. Tad is a great closer with guys who visit. Solid chance here.
