Jamie Carey Named Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach

Good addition to the staff. Should help with the in-state recruiting and with game planning for the Stanford system.

Wow! Great pickup. She knows a hell of a lot about basketball, and is one of the best players the state of Colorado has ever produced.

I really like this hire. Jamie brings so much to the table. She has played at all but the very highest of levels (never made the Olympic team) and brings that experience with her. Plus she has been exposed to coaching her entire life (father is a hs coach) and has done really well herself as a hs coach. Also knows the national team program inside and out. She was a terrific point guard herself and hopefully can coach up the Buffs guards since that is probably the weakest part of the team going into this season with the graduations of the Wilson twins. There is a 4* incoming frosh pg. It would be great to see her develop quickly. Then theres the Colorado recruiting aspect. Not a lot of PAC 12 level players in Colorado girls basketball but two of the top 2016 players are in the Colorado Springs area... a guard at Sand Creek (where Jamie coached) and a post at Mesa Ridge. I'd really like to see the post player in a Buffs uniform. Don't know as much about the guard.
