For those that want a shooter, Harwell may be your man. RK has a great write up on him (from about 2 weeks ago) where he talks about how he doesn't have an offer from CU yet, but it kind of sounds like that's a formality at this time. Tad hasn't seen him in person, but the other coaches have. He's a bit under the radar because he's from a small town and just started to blow up on the AAU circuit (see: Thomas, Dustin).

I do question if he's a good fit though, if only because he called RK "sir" in the article. May not be the best judge of character.

Just an FYI, Tad watched him last July in Los Angeles. Know he loved him then, but loved Hemsley more.

I mis-read RK's article then. I thought that Tad hadn't seen him.

Kid LOVES the Buffs. Will be interesting to see if them coming in late hurts them compared to say, Boise State. But CU has basically been one of his top two or three schools since last July.

Noticed he's visiting Wyoming on 6/18/2014, do you think he's just stopping by on his way there? Wouldn't be an OV would it?

Visited Memphis to see family and then is stopping by Boulder/Laramie on the way back. Not really going out on a limb here... but I think this is our guy at SG

OVs don't start until the start of the senior year. Anything before like Sep 1st is an unofficial.

Don't think that's true. Josh Perkins took an OV to UNM his junior year.

I think this doesn't apply for football, just basketball and other sports with a signing date in the fall semester.

But you are right.

For the 2014 recruiting class, the rule changed that basketball players could begin making OVs after January 1 of their junior year. I totally missed that. Most likely because we didn't see any OVs at CU that took advantage of this.

ESPN had a discussion on the potential impact of this. http://insider.espn.go.com/college-...aa-rule-allowing-juniors-take-official-visits

Ron (pops) is a smart dude. He's a structural engineer and getting his PhD at the moment from ISU.

Was also a pretty good player at Idaho State.

"Colorado has a good program. Coach [Tad] Boyle definitely has it going in the right direction. They had a pretty rough season last year with Spencer Dinwiddie going down. With him, they probably could have gone pretty far in the tournament. They have a lot of good guards, so if I went there, I'd have to go in and really work hard. I'll probably visit there at some point."

We'll want to keep an eye on this one. Buffs continue to keep this one open and Harwell has us in his Top 5. No visit scheduled to CU. Reading between the lines, my best guess is that both parties are seeing what happens with Shamet and Dorsey.

Jim,

If he's making the decision this weekend then you got him. CU was slow playing him because of Dorsey and he knows that. He likes Boise State a lot and you're not treating him like a backup plan.

Really good player. Congratulations.

Yeah, I'm with Nik on this one. If he's deciding this weekend, he's a Bronco.

I really think he'll choose to be a Bronco as well.

However, and to play devil's advocate, I'm not sure Tad would refuse a commitment to wait on a long shot like Dorsey. Let's say Harwell did choose the Buffs, then Dorsey visits and wants to commit to the Buffs, Tad would take both. We've seen some roster moves to clear up a scholly before..... "In Tad We Trust!"

Really looking like Dorsey may make or break this class. Although it's not his fault, we seem to be losing guys because we're waiting on him. Although from what I read, we weren't really slow-playing Shamet, I have to believe that the Dorsey situation may have played some part in him committing before he even visited Boulder, no?

It sounds like we're all-in on Dorsey and pulling out all the stops to get a commitment next weekend. Do you have any feel for whether Tad will move on if he doesn't get a commitment from Dorsey after his visit, or at least have a really strong feeling? If not, will there be anyone left by the time he visits Kansas?
