I would really love to think we have a chance on this kid. That's a sick offer list for a kid who is just now going into his junior season.

Yeah I wish, but I'm guessing that he doesn't leave Texas.

Sometimes, I look at a kid with an offer list like that and wonder what I would do. Take CU out of the equation for a sec because I'm biased. This kid can really go anywhere he wants to.

If I'm him, that Stanford offer looks great. If you can deal with living in a boring town with a serious lack of hot chicks, that is.

I am going to get ripped for this. I would probably go to Texas or SC

Bama, SC, UT, FSU, ND, OU, etc all give you the highest probability for exposure which should get you noticed if the NFL is your next step.

CU, BU, Ole Miss, TCU, TT, etc give you the highest probability to play immediately and get to the NFL sooner.

Gonna depend on his priorities. If he is willing to wait for the NFL, assuming that is the end goal, that free Stanford diploma is hard to pass up.

I know Bama is the pinnacle of college football right now, but I don't think I would like it there. For one, I think Saban is a dick. The school is good enough, and I'm sure the talent is abundant, but I don't know if I'd want to spend 4+ years in Tuscaloosa playing for a jerk like Saban. I know he wins. There's no denying that. I just don't like the guy. Alabama would be pretty easy for me to strike from my list as a result.

I just looked, and there's no offer from Florida. I always thought that would be a pretty good place, too.

I would go for football but also cognizant of the education. Would not consider FSU, Bama, etc.

IT would be a very tough choice. Very jealous I don't get to make it haha. It wouldn't suck to have your choice of colleges like that.

Bama is a better school than we give it credit for. It's not Stanford, but it's not Mississippi State, either.

If I'm interested in my education, there are some schools that have a decent rep on academics but don't really allow major sport athletes to take classes that are much more challenging than a juco course load.

Because of that and a number of other things that you don't know until you visit and spend time talking to players, I think that if you've got the leverage to wait then you should take all 5 visits and make as informed of a decision as possible. Find the place that best matches up with the environment that suits you.

If we landed this guy, the hospitals would be busy. About all of you would have a heart attack.

Let me edit this for you. We are not even on this kid's radar. He is the #1 recruit from texas depending on what site you look at, and all indications are that he is deciding between aTm and UT.
So you're saying there isn't a chance?
