SPARQ test results

40 dash: 4.66
20 shuttle: 4.09 (that's quick - makes me think he's faster than 4.66)
Vertical: 38.6
Total Score: 99.75

Mitty broke his hand in September and missed most of his senior year before returning in November. Mitty was a great team last year, but lost to Serra in the playoffs.

From his CU player bio:

He also lettered three times in track, participating in sprints and relays; he owned a career best of 11.2 in the 100-meter dash.

Welcome to the Black and Gold Kyle! Go Buffs!

The quality of our PWOs is up over recent years.

Kid looks more talented than some of the kids that we have given schollies to in recent years.

Not amazingly fast but looks quick, shifty, and tape shows some broken tackles, looks like a tough kid who doesn't mind contact. Also showed some nice hands in the tape. Same skills and highlights would probably have a decent offer list if he were bigger. Time for him to prove that being smaller doesn't stop him from being a player.

Welcome to the Buffs

What's so great about his first name? Isn't it Kyle?

To avoid confusion in a player's thread, I'll clarify the joke.

Kyle McCall posted that Kyle Evans had a great first name. So I joked back, as a rib at Kyle McCall, that we wouldn't hold the name against Kyle Evans.

+1 Also hope he brings a chip on his shoulder for not being more recruited. Our last class and this one have been pretty bare with respect to RB so he has an opportunity if he proves himself and works hard.

Does an out of state PWO have to pay out of state tuition? That's a big deal if he's willing to do that. Wouldn't that imply he feels he has a good chance to earn a scholly pretty quickly?

Yes, he does pay out of state tuition and fees.

Depending on his family situation he may (and probably does) qualify for need based financial aid. He can't get preferential treatment in receiving this over what a non-athlete would get but this assistance can be substantial.

All that said he probably feels pretty good about his chances of earning a scholly fairly soon.

Size, speed, and power make me think of R. Stewart.

I thought of Speedy too when I saw his size. Speedy was quick, and probably a little faster than the Evans' reported 4.6 40 though. What I didn't see in Evans' videos was a lot of tap dancing in the backfield, which I think is a good thing.
