Listed at 6'1" 210 lbs on the official roster.

Given our depth at OLB, this makes some sense.

We really seem to like the linebacker/safety style linebacker. I suppose that's good for the PAC.

Probably not a good sign for Rippy.

Agree with this.

Lets hope that the light comes on for him. He has the physical skills so it isn't as if he is a lost cause. Some guys take a little longer to turn into college players, unfortunately some never do but Rippy is a young guy who has bounced around a bit.

I think we talk about Rippy more than the coaches do. Not declaring him a bust, but...

Not really surprising for a team that's struggled to bring in much 4* talent. Unfortunately, like several others of our more highly regarded prospects, it has not panned out for him yet.

wondering why Talianko put a crying smiley face on the tweet- is he upset ? happy ?
I'm sure no big deal but was wondering out loud.

Rippy hasn't played a game yet and he is being labeled by some a bust? Really?

I should clarify. I'm not labeling him a bust. I would expect, however, that he'd be pushing for more playing time than what we have seen so far. I'm just going off of what Slider and a few others are reporting, and maybe they're just not seeing a lot of Rippy. He's been in the system for a year now. He shouldn't be having difficulties in assignments or understanding the playbook.

Some of us only get the reports on camp that resonate from the questions Ringo asks after practice. He just hasn't asked about him yet, more worried about GB. I doubt he's able to scout any good players, so I'm chalking this up to coincidence.

Would agree that is not a good sign for Rippy and other OLBs. We are not exactly deep at safety.

Snow quoted the DP a while back: “I sure hope (he can contribute),” MacIntyre said of Talianko. “He’s a bigger kid. So with all the of the spread teams we’ll face, he might be able to play a mixture of a linebacker and safety, a hybrid type of thing.”
