Possibly overrated: Oregon, Georgia. Plus I question every team from 18-25 finishing in the top 25, but not sure who would take their place. Something about this season gives me plenty of doubts as to who is going to look truly dominant and be the favorite for the 4-team playoff. FSU and Bama, probably, but a toss-up to me as to who the second SEC school that undoubtedly gets in will be and who else will round that out. Lots of mystery in August.

Starting to think Oregon State is going to be the surprise team in the Pac-12. Top 20 team come December?

Auburn is due for a market correction after last season. Would probably swap LSU with them.

Do not trust any Big 12 teams.

Oregon State as they are every year is the biggest mystery in the conference to me, because they constantly outperform their recruiting rankings thanks to above average player development and coaching. They have also had playmakers and turned in very mediocre seasons in the Riley era, so I'm conflicted. They're a team this board has put in the "maybe" category for a CU win, but they also have Mannion who is going to turn in a very solid year and improve his draft status and I'm afraid they'll get the W on us. Just don't know how well they'll play the rest of the conference this year. UCLA will be strong but UW and USC have question marks mostly because of the new staffs and UO and Stanford may play better than last year but I'm also counting on at least one of them to play noticeably worse.

Very "meh" year in terms of identifying preseason worldbeaters. Wish CU was ready to step up and challenge some of these schools in transitional years.

I really like Auburn to turn some heads, that isn't going out on a limb being number 6 and a missed tackle away from a title, I really like their qb and they always have a good back amongst other things. Pac 12, Oregon St. isn't a bad pick to surprise, they do that from time to time.

Thing with Auburn is the schedule. Miss St., Ole Miss, K-State, Georgia, and Bama on the road plus a potential neutral site game in Atlanta. Could easily see two losses in there.

Yep that's a tough slate, they get through that with a loss or two, they might make the playoff anyway.

Even with Mariota returning, count me in the Ducks are overrated camp. Simply not sold on Helfrich as the Head Coach there. Oklahoma is probably over-rated, too, but that is where they will probably rank at the end of the year coming out of the weak Big 12.

If we win big against CSU and UMass...do we get a vote? If we beat ASU then I'd assume its "for sure"

If we open 3-0 we definitely get votes. CSU is irrelevant on the national stage and UMass sucks. So no, no votes for beating those two.

Ugh... hate to see so much SEC love. Why is Florida receiving any votes?
They were riddled with injuries last year. But who's to say their S&C program sucks and they will continue to have all these injuries? I'd exclude them from the list, but that's just me.

You could be right.

Pre-season polls are usually a combination of what did they do last year combined with lots of votes for the "usual suspects" who get votes simply because some of the voters vote for them every year (yes Notre Dame I'm talking about you.)

Oregon State quietly goes about winning a lot more games than people think they will or realize they do so they get overlooked.
