I don't remember a lot being different for last year. Hopefully it kicks up more.

***BREAKING NEWS*** Job announcement #2: I'm very excited to officially be returning for my second year with Colorado Buffaloes Men's Basketball!!! Just like last season I'll be DJing and even hosting when needed. Thank you to the Colorado Buffaloes athletic department for allowing me to continue to be part of this amazing program that gets better and better by the year, Go Buffs! Go CU! Go Coors Events Center! Go Boulder! Go Pac-12 Conference! @cubuffs@cubuffsmbb #gobuffs #boulder #mens #college #basketball #ncaa #pac12 #coorseventcenter

Maybe I should become a DJ. I don't ever remember any DJ related stuff at basketball games last season - at least I could be memorable.

I was scanning the radio on the way home and heard him talk. He is a dj on 95.7. He was super excited about the job and said nice things about CU. Was great to hear good stuff about the buffs for once.

Did we update our sound system at CEC?

Acoustics are so bad in that arena, regardless.

But as far as the sound system goes, it's still that cluster of things in the middle of the ceiling that look like surplus from the M.A.S.H. set.

I don't understand this hire. I'm curious how much they're paying him. I know there are some talented DJ's who attend CU.
Jmo

I remember this guy from a few games. He wasn't so much a DJ as he was in-game entertainment. And he was TONS better than the normal guy who we had doing things (kiss cam, item of the game, etc). Frickin' love this hire.

I'll take your word for it. The kiss cam guy was annoying as hell, but I honestly have zero recollection of this guy last year. None. I only missed a couple games, too.

I know he did the last weekend of the year.

ASU and UA?

I missed the UA game, and the ASU game had a tipoff at like 9:00 PM, so I may have simply been to tired to notice.

Actually, I'm waffling on the UA game. But pretty sure ASU he worked.

You guys are not seeing the bigger picture here. This is part of a new graduate program that will let us bring in D1 graduate transfers for immediate eligibility. Advanced DJ Studies. Suck it, J-Fly!

I hope he works out, but if he bombs there shouldn't be much debate over his nickname...

DJ Shidtz the Bedz

He's a DJ on 95.7 and been the in-game DJ for Nuggs games for around 10 years. It isn't like they took some flyer on a kid they found djing at a house party. Clearly he knows what he is doing.

I think we can hire a homeless person to hit play on an iPod. Then the Boulderittes will be on athletic's side for once.

Exactly.

I think some of the folks on AB are having trouble wrapping their heads around "DJ" being a professional occupation in a highly competitive field. They have fans and pack clubs as headliners. Someone who does sporting events has a more specific professional skill in the DJ world.

You guys are acting like a DJ is some loser who graduated from making mix tapes for girls he was unsuccessfully trying to move out of the friend zone... to a loser living in his parents' basement trying to scrape together a living by loading wedding reception playlists onto his hi-fi.

I was more trying to fit in my joke. But I don't think anyone wants Buff games to resemble NBA games, so I hope that he's mindful of the context.

Understood - and this isn't directed at you. But CU putting up money to have a DJ should be seen as a good thing not something to criticize. It's impossible to appease everybody with in-game entertainment, so I'm sure that Bedz won't appeal to all. But putting up $ to try to improve the in-game experience can't be seen as a bad thing.

can't we just pay some smoking hot chick to wear bikinis and sit in a hot tub at games?

Being a DJ in this day and age isn't hard. Being a good DJ is very hard.

I love Pretty Lights but he obviously couldn't do this more than once or twice. (That would be ****ing awesome though if they could do a show after the game and have him DJ during the game.)

DJ Bedz from his name, White Shadow, to the rolling little suitcase just seems like a total douche to me. And saying but he DJs for the Nuggets doesn't really change that.

see this is a man with ideas - if we're going to steal the Nuggets DJ, can we steal the Mammoth's Hot Tub and eye candy?

There used to be a great show on 88.5 on sunday nights. Great DJ's on that show. I always assumed they were CU students. Anyone else remember that show?
