Visit to an FCS Game (Towson vs. Cent Conn St)

After yesterday's debacle in Denver, I find myself in Towson Maryland this evening at an FCS game watching Towson play Central Connecticut State. It is a very different experience than a game in Boulder (or Denver). As a diversion from the usual subject matter of this forum, I thought that I would share some observations.

First, I am in the Towson version of club seating.

The student section opposite from me has a pretty good showing:

And being in Maryland you can get a decent crabcake at the concession stand.

The concourse is somewhat less crowded than in Boulder:

Interestingly, their colors are the Black and Gold. They even chant it: "Black and Gold!" The stadium is Johnny Unitas Stadium, even though he never played at this school, nor coached here. There is plenty room to paint a nice "Colorado" in the end zone.

Their football building doesn't look all that bad:

Thread title should be: Watched an FCS game last night. Saw one in person today.

You know something, sitting at a football game where I experience no incidents of anger, disappointment, depression, and chagrin is quite refreshing.

Except last night's game only involved 1 FCS team

No, it involved an FCS team from Ft. Collins that doesn't want to admit it yet and one from Boulder that is trying to bring itself up from D2 quality to eventually return to the level of a power conference team. The one from Ft. Collins won last night. Looking at the size of that crowd they would feel right at home there.

Level below FCS but I want to get down to Pueblo and see CSU-Pueblo play a couple times.

Wristen has built a very good program there from scratch. Community turns out and makes for a fun game day experience.

You could certainly tell the difference in size and speed, but it was a fun game to watch.

My guess is it was a question about the off field talent, but I could be wrong. But pics of the off field talent would be a plus for sure.

Maybe he means that the cheerleader are shorter and the co-eds need a little more convincing?

Did I just win the daily UBL prize.

One thing I know is I'm glad we don't play North Dakota St. They would kick our ass. They have an impressive football team. Cool pics man, thanx for sharing.

I don't care what level a team is playing at, 25 wins in a row is impressive.

Yes it is and they played a p5 team at their house, didn't just beat them, more than that. They broke off a 70 something td run and got a penalty. They come back, get a first down, then break off a 60 something yard td with a different back. He was pulling away from guys chasing him. They look like an fbs team or whatever the hell it's called.

Any FBS teams previously scheduled will be throwing cash to not play NDSU. Bison have won five straight vs FBS foes. Straight owned ISU.
