Umu is expected to be at the CU camp in June.

He was at CU for junior day and camped with the Buffs last year. Here's a recap of his visit for the spring game:

Umu is currently hearing the most from CU, Wyoming and South Dakota State. His third unofficial visit to Boulder was a success. "I was there for a summer camp before my junior year and I also went to the junior day in February. It was cool being on the field at the spring game. I liked seeing Ralphie and I liked the food."

He's mobile, has good feet and is physical. I think this kid could be a really good OL prospect/option

All good qualities for a guy on the DL too. We are going after a ton of OL guys this cycle. Let's shore up the DT position as well. Has he even PLAYED on the OL before?

One thing that makes it hard to read the film is that I can't tell if Heritage is playing a read/react defensive front or if they are supposed to penetrate from the DL. There's such a variance in ability across that front that the line of scrimmage quickly changes one way or the other in different spots. That has Umu standing up his blocker and holding him off a lot instead of shooting and pursuing to the ball. It also has him catching tackles instead of driving into them.

What I usually look for most out of a DL is the first step and then the closing burst. It was hard for me to tell much on either from that film. Only thing I could tell for sure is that no one was pushing him somewhere he didn't want to go.

I was going to say the same thing. I didn't see that burst or power from a guy who is 6'5" 270 lbs. Would have liked to see more discarding of the blocker and finding the ball. I see a need for more strength and power. I can see this guy doing damage. He has the size to make a difference.

Spoke to Frank. He said he's 6-4, 280. Hopes to get to 300 for college. Trains with McChesney and said it's made a difference in his physicality since February.

Here's that interview with Frank if you have a subscription. Adam got a video interview with the Heritage junior too at McChesney's gym.

That interview with Frank linked above is free over on Buff Stampede if you weren't able to read it. Adam put in some serious work getting videos at McChesney's gym and they turned out great.

Not bad....plays a little high for me...would like to see the pad level drop....that led to him having problems with the double team and not creating a pile....when he is not double teamed though he was a handful

CSU likes him on both lines, or at least that's what they've told him. They said they just want to bring him in and figure it out from there. I know he liked Fort Collins when he was up for a camp last month. He's a great kid and his dad is a good guy. I hope he ends up staying in state, wherever that is.

Good for him to lock up an offer going into the season. If he has a breakout season we know where to find him.

I take it we have space for another? We have a lot of bodies along the lines. Wish we could spread them out over a few classes

Gray shirt and red shirts will help with that some. I am confused by the amount they are bringing in though.

Samson isn't at all likely to make it back.
Josh Tupou is draft eligible and NFL scouts are all over him.

Next year:
Solis - SR
Lopez - SO
Frank - RS F

We'll need 1 guy to play right away and several guys to develop.
