OK, our drives in the second half began at:
Hawaii 49 - Minus 9 yards and a punt. That was bad.
CU 23
CU 25
CU 7
CU 10
CU 5
And then, at the end of the game, the CU 35 and Hawaii 45 when we were running out the clock

Take away the first and last two, we started at an average of the 14 the entire second half. I just think we could never develop a rhythm. But I'll say this. In the three drives we began inside our own 10, we went 39 yards, 46 yards and 47 yards. So, those three drives totally flipped field position and I think that was huge.

9 penalties for 83 yards for us to 2 for 15 for them. Not good at all.

Good stuff, DBT.

Main issue, I think, is that we don't run the ball well or consistently enough to sustain a lot of long drives. Today, it also seemed like Sefo rarely had time to wait for deeper routes to develop. Actually, that's not just today. If we see a pass play down field it's a "go" route. I think the deep posts and crossing routes have had to be schemed out of the offense to keep Sefo upright.

Very few sustained drives. Longest was 4:13. But Other than a 6:27 drive, we held Hawaii to all very short drives. There second half possessions averaged just 1:29.

18 combined punts today. That's the kind of football I grew up with, and I enjoyed it. I get tired of the shootouts we see in most games.
