A day late, but listened to the presser this morning.

You can tell 100% this is Sefo's team. Both in his responses and Chidobe's, it is clear that they all seem to lean on the QB.

Chidobe seems to have a bit of that DB swagger. Glad to see it. He seems fired up to play Cal, hope that is true for the entire D. The D has played 7 very good quarters in a row. I hope they can make it 11.

Depth Chart is out as well. No changes, and Gillam is not on the injury list. Looks like we are ready to go.

Cal appears to be healthy as well, physically anyway. Have to see how they come back mentally from last weeks heartbreaker, which by the way Chidobe doesn't feel the least bit of sympathy.

Ross isn't even listed at WR, so the redshirt must be official.

Hopefully they move him to DB. He isn't going to cut it at WR. Add in Bobo, Fields, Lee, and Dunston in his class and he won't see much PT anyway

Saw on twitter he said he hurt his knee and that is why he redshirted so maybe we should hold up on the judgement until the spring.

Watched the presser on CUBuffs.com. Chidobe made an interesting statement about how this year he is relying on technique vs last year when he relied on his athleticism. Another issue of youth...kids in HS could dominate based just on athletic ability, but in the PAC12 they are competing against people as or more athletic. I definitely see a huge improvement in his game. Makes me wonder how many other kids last year had the same attitude.

I'm surprised Callahan hasn't at least got some snaps. He nursing an injury we haven't maybe heard about?

The depth chart has baffled me. I had a conversation with a player and his dad after the game last saturday. He and several starters are curious why Callahan is not playing and they think he is better than Nembot and Irwin. they have tried to voice their opinion with the OL coach and been shut down quickly. They said OL coach favors Nembot and Irwin and refused to put any competition against them during camp. He said it was obvious that Callahan would have taken the starting position. I asked if it was a personality issue and he said that Callahan is aware of the ridiculous situation but is a team player and is handling this as best he can and he said Callahan is well liked and respected. He did mention that Callahan likes to hit hard in practice and has pissed off a couple of the young DLinemen.

I have always believed that the coach knows better but this is the second person close to the situation that has told me this. I am frustrated because I think we would have kicked CSUs *** and we would have had a chance with ASU. Hopefully HCMM stops the insanity of this. What really hurts is that Callahan didn't get any reps at tackle during camp or practice, He focused on rotating the center but his only tackle alternative was putting Crabb and Munyer on the outside even though both are utterly undersized.

Something hasn't been adding up for me with the OL, but this explains it. I think Bernardi should be the first of Mac's hires to go...no reason we shouldn't have a good OL with Callahan and 2 seniors. Ugh! We aren't good enough to have a weak link in the assistant coaching staff...kinda frustrating.
