We are only a little over 3 days until the Buffs face Cal ad all I read is well this should be a close game but Cal is a good team with really good talent, they put up a lot of points on the board, much improved, etc. Stop it! Just stop. Cal ****ing sucks and you suck if you don't agree. Cal's defense is a joke. The **** they showed against a lowly Arizona team whose QB is no better than Sefo but looked like a All Pac 12 selection in that 4th quarter.

Sefo carved apart a similar Bears defense and our defense handled Cal all day in 2013. Cal's offense has improved, but since last year and especially over the last couple games our pass defense has improved. The Buffs strength is their secondary and they are starting to get some pressure. Sefo has not looked very good this year, but Spruce may break his own CU record for catches in consecutive weeks after he picked apart Cal last week.

Sonny Dykes is Dan Hawkins. No excuse to lose a game you are ahead by 18 points. You decide to pass it on 2nd and 14, rather than run clock?

11 points was funny, but 14 is a joke. Just because Cal has put up some points, we are supposed to just say, well that's about right?! The Buffs defense is better. 7 quarters of the best defensive ball we have seen in quite some time. We will have a couple lapses, but the Buffs will be fine as long as the offense holds up some end of the bargain and against ****ty Cal, it happens.

If Cal had won that game against Arizona by two TDs then I may have said this is a fair game to give Cal respect. This Cal team is where the Buffs were when hey had started 2-0 and had all the confidence in the world. Then the 2nd half happened against Oregon St. Then the 2nd quarter happened against Oregon. Cal is CU with a better QB but with more question marks. That loss is a loss that is difficult to bounce back from that quickly.

CU doesn't only cover, but they win this game, 38-31 only because Cal gets some slop points late.

I don't respect Cal, I just don't think we are going to win. Still gonna go to the game and cheer for my buffs.

I love your attitude, but Cal is much better than they were last year. Because their defense decided to play football again, they are holding opponents back. Enables their offense to mix the run in more than they did last year. The balance makes them more explosive.

I think we can win. Its going to be tight though.

Would not be surprised to see Cal stomp on us though. Our road history is that bad.

Still. **** Cal.

I get what you're saying, but I think Cal is a better team than last year. I expect a good game and picked the Buffs to win...maybe more with my heart than my head.

One thing to keep in mind is Cal has already been playing some of their best football...CU has yet to put 4 quarters together. If we do, we will win.

Of course Cal is better, they were almost 2012 CU last year

Cal's defense is giving up 29 points per game.
CU's defense is giving up 29 points per game.
Cal's opposition is certainly no worse than CU's opposition.

Cal is scoring considerably more points than CU but giving up the same amount of points.

Zona is 4-0. It's not like they've played anyone special, they've played four games and have won them all. Something most schools cannot say, including CU.

Ya but you saw flashes of that offense being prolific last year and it looks like that thing is finally fully operational. The D last year didn't play 95% of the time. The D is improved and the O more consistent. They are dangerous.

What gives me hope is that I think we have seen Cal's best game against Pac-12 competition and it was still a loss. CU has yet to put together a full 4 quarters on both sides of the ball.

So, Saturday evening, what will your excuses be?

This game is all about who the home team is. We play so badly away, and Cal looks better than I hoped they would before the season.

Hopefully the coaches saw some clear weaknesses in the defenses during Zona's come back, and hopefully our offense is competent enough to take advantage of them.

Hopefully.

Please refer to them correctly as Bay Area Safety School or Not Quite Stanford (but we got in!)

I think we should give Cal great respect, they, quite possibly, are the best P12 team CU will face this week.

It will be interesting to see which Cal team we get with what happened last weekend. My guess is any kind of adversity and they fold like a cheap folding chair. They are tremendously improved though, so not sure we can compare them to last years Cal team. We shall see.

I have no idea what to expect. Cal appears to be better, but could come out with their hair on fire or flat, depending on how the team reacts to the Arizona loss. We've played maybe 4 decent quarters of football this year. We nearly lost to UMass and let Hawaii - a team that last won on the road against Idaho some 14 games ago - stick around for four quarters. I was impressed by parts of the first half against CSU and in general with the performance against ASU. We could lose this game by 21 or win by 21. Although I have to admit I'd be more surprised by the latter result than the former.

That's the spirit, Digger!
**** 'em up. **** 'em up. Go CU.

who's got digger's back when he's on a rage-binge post-game?

who's his wingman?

sno! cover this man. he'll need backup in berkeley.

I've got a birthday party for the SO's sister to attend back in SFO after the game. He's on his own while I do my best to ruin my relationship because of CU.

Yep. Not really sure how any one knows how we are going to do either way. This team is so up and down. We could win by 21 against Cal and then get annihilated the next weekend. I bet we see probably 2 good quarters and 2 really bad quarters against Cal. I have hope, due to how young they are and seeing the progress from game one, that they can cut this down to maybe 1 sloppy quarter each game.

You know the saying. "Allbuffs before ho's". Or something like that.....

I feel ill.

i've got a perfectly fine gardener's shed, down by the creek. it doesn't leak too much and it probably won't get that cold out there. the electricity even works about 65% of the time.

if she throws you out while you are in the bay area, i mean...
