Is it wrong of me to like Cal?

I am really trying to hate the Bears from California but they just remind me so much of us:

- Both great college towns (ok their's is pretty grimy and next to Oakland but still it is pretty good).
- Down trodden hippy fan bases
- Bad recent teams
- Hope in facilities for the future
- heavy liberal leans in the student population
- most of both schools seems to be from CA
- neither of us got into Stanford.

Honestly it is like looking at a frumpy sister. I look at them and see our slightly brighter, less attractive, much more insecure older siblings.

Really? You come out with this **** BEFORE we play them?

Couldn't you wait until Monday? I can't disagree with you though lol.

Their bear is creepy as hell. You can hate that pretty easily. If pedobear had an old uncle, it would be Oski.

Hey, who you calling frumpy? I must say that in the history of the Universe there have never been two threads talking about (a) liking us and (b) respecting us. I guess we're likable enough in a kind of bumbling Inspector Clouseau kind of way, but we don't get a lot of people worrying too much about overly respecting Cal. Hell, we don't even respect ourselves most of the time. You should read the board melt down we had at the end of the AZ game. Wow.

Saw the meltdown live. It was actually disappointing. Expected more, but talk quickly turned to wine and yurts.

CU is the girl you call at 6pm, Cal is the one you go home with at 2am.

I didn't get the 'great college town' bit either. Berkeley has a lot going for it, but I most certainly would not call it a great college town.

Who I root for in Pac-12 games that don't include CU is based - first - whether it's advantageous to the Buffs in the standings if one of the teams win.

Removing that consideration, I like Cal over any of the other 11.

This week, though... **** CAL!

Look, how many times and in how many different ways can you say "we suck", "we won't win another game this year", "Dykes should be fired" and "The Air Raid and its direct progeny such as the Bear Raid represent an inherently flawed offensive system that is incapable of controlling the pace of the game and accordingly counterbalancing offensive production with defensive discipline"? But you get us started on yurts? Watch out.

There is much possibility with this one. Bears watching.*

*see what I did there?

traffic was snarled this am due to an amazingly small amount of precipitation so i cut through berkeley. i was sitting at a light at a busy intersection. i glanced over at the sidewalk. there, in the middle of the sidewalk, next to the intersection, there was a pile of shoes. they were all black, high-heeled shoes with laces. like maybe 40 pairs and all basically identical...

i figure it was a sign. but, i'm not sure what it portends.
